I absolutely adore Miss Maya! She's a wonderful professor and makes learning Russian a breeze! Super sweet and often brings Russian food and drinks. Lot's of extra credit and you can retake quizzes up until the chapter exam. You have to work for an A but it's not terribly difficult. She wants you to pass. I look forward to Russian 2 next semester!

Maya is an amazing teacher, she really does care about her students and wants everyone to pass. There are tons of extra credit opportunities, it is really hard (its impossible) to fail her class Easy A! She not only helps you with your homework and reviews tests and quizzes, but also brings in Russian foods and drinks so you get a taste of Russia.

I thought Russian would be super difficult to learn but Maya was helpful and kept it fun. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone who wants to learn a second language. If you are in class and ready to learn, it is an easy A. She goes over every assignment and gives plenty of extra credit opportunities. Please take her class!

I had the pleasure of taking Ms. Maya's Russian 120 class this past semester. I would highly recommend taking Russian with Ms. Maya, she is very knowledgeable and patient with her students. If you are serious about learning Russian be prepared to do the work and seek tutoring between classes. Like most other things in life will be get what you put

Awesome class and great teacher. I enjoyed every minute of it. Would highly recommend this class for novice students, she uses immersion approach so you can learn basic conversation in one semester. It's a pity she does not teach Russian 2

Maya always has a lively personality and is a great comedian. Some may say she is a waste of time, but nobody in my class hated like her. She spends a lot of time really dedicating her time to help you out. She always will answer any question for you at anytime.I learnt 3 times as much as I knew from my past 3 years of taking Russian. Mrs. Maya is awesome. I had her in high school as a russian teacher and am taking her now in college. She really tries to help you out in her class. She yells alot, but not in a mad way. She is really nice and is an easy grader...I have made so many mistakes but still passed her class. She is the best! :)

Mrs. Maya is one of the best Professors i have had the pleasure of taking. If you want to learn the Russian language, take this lady. I admit that this class has alot of work, but then again you are trying to learn a very difficult language. She is the most horrible teacher I have ever had in my whole life! Do not take her. Native Russain students who were at her class told that she speaks Russian with a terrible Ukranian accent. She cannot pronounce Russian words correctly. Stay away from her.

This class is a lot of fun and teacher's enthusiasm helps you overcome grammar difficulties. The teacher answers any questions and she's very knowledgeable and competent. She teaches two levels semultaneously so how do you expect her to do it without any help?

Waste of your time! She is for elementary school level, not for college. She can't even explain simple concepts of grammar. Makes you sing in class instead of learning the language. Native speakers do all the work for her, and they will grade your homework and tests incorrectly.

I enjoyed every class, learned a lot, native speakers are learning while helping other students with grammar and reading. This class was fun when we sang and staged plays along with studying grammar and paragraph writing
