Comment:

Come to class and take a reading quiz, enjoy the time in class and you usually will get out an hour early (depending what time you take him). Easy writing assignments, allows to turn in one late writing assignment and one redo on any essay. Highly recommended professor for second language learners!

Mr. Waterhouse is the best teacher I've had, he makes you want to learn by keeping class low-key. Mel is understanding and wants the best for his students. I took the 4 hour class, it always let out early. No tests! Six 3 page papers due every other week. Final is a easy in-class essay. It's not hard to get an A if you go to class and do the work.

Mel is so great! He picked out really interesting essays to read and discuss and always went over exatly what he wanted regarding papers. What I enjoyed the most is that he wasn't too strict, so he left a lot of room for you to creatively write the way you want and say what you want to say. I definetely recommend taking him!

He's amazing. Seriously. This guy knows his stuff, is dry and cynical in a hilarious way, and is very nonchalant. He's not utterly defined by structure, but his classes have a pleasant consistency. This prof is the BEST!!!

Took summer course, Mel is nice and funny, even for a liberal. Course can be frustrating for right thinking people, but Mel gets my highest respect for NOT taking your conservatism against your grade. Watch out for those Michael Moore movies.
