Comment:
Dr. Wilhoit is one of the best teachers I've ever had but also the most difficult. You cannot pass without learning, but those who are willing to work extremely hard should do fine in his class. He will teach to think critically, write better, read analytically, and listen with purpose. The skills I've learned in his class are worth all the work.

Comment:
Dr. Wilhoit is an amazing musician/historian, but his personality and expectations annoy many students. His tests are all take home or identifying music which he gives out at the beginning. Anyone willing to work hard and do ALL the many h.w. assignments, should pass. He treats it like a graduate level class think 4 credits of work instead of 2.

Fine arts is awful. Don't bother. Too bad it's a required course and he is the only prof. Take it elsewhere and transfer it in. He is incredibly rude, seems to get a rush out of making girls cry in his class, and pretty much hates everyone and everything. I've heard he is good for upper level Music classes, but even most of the music majors hate him. He has a violent temper and is just simply not a nice man.

Comment:
I'm a hard working student and I enjoy the majority of my professors. With this aside, Dr. Wilhoit is one of the most insensitive and unkind people I have ever met. His actions and attitude are not reflective of Bryan's Christian atmosphere, and I am extremely disappointed by the way in which he chooses to relate to students. Avoid him if possible.

i went into his class, with hardly any appreciation for arts. wilhoit's knowledge and passion for the subject matter makes it so interesting, though. he's a good teacher- a hard one, but a good one... take good notes and don't miss class. that's how you'll do well in the end. he's best in class rather than one-on-one.

Dr. Wilhoit is a wonderful professor. Is he hard? Yes. Does he challenge you? Yes! But that is a good thing; he expects you to put a lot of effort into getting a good education and to earn a good grade. So one can't be lazy in his classes... get over it! :)

The man loves the arts, and if you put forth the effort, his Intro to Fine Arts class could very well be one of your favorite at Bryan - take it from me, a math/comp.sci major!
