She teaches at the University of Akron now. Absolute worst prof there is. She is rude and makes tax too difficult. She does not help at all and expects too much out of students. She even walked out on our VITA clinic and did not return the next week because she didn't get her way. DO NOT TAKE HER AT ALL COSTS!

Comment:

This was the hardest class I've taken in my college career. Her tests are worth 70% of your grade and everyone fails. Our first class average was below a 50%. She doesn't care to curve and doesn't care if you aren't passing. NO extra Credit opportunities. Would recommend taking someone else if you actually want to learn tax.

This class is the worst!! I got an A in physics and a B in Calculus 2 but this class received a D. She expects you to know so much information and even things that she has to look up or cannot answer. Class is super boring and really makes you consider stabbing yourself to death with your pencil. This class was the reason I changed my major!!!!!!

Heavy workload, difficult material, little or no guidance on tests, worked problems way too fast, doesn?t post answers to HW probs - if you pull an A out of her class, you probably deserve it. Still, Dr. McCoskey is big-hearted and would help anyone who is trying. Don?t take her class unless you are able to devote some serious study time to it.

Nice lady, TERRIBLE professor. She just reads powerpoints without making a point to see if the class understands at all. She also talks real low, almost to herself. You pretty much have to teach yourself through this class. Do NOT take her!

She is the worst teacher I've ever had! She read powerpoints and the tax code instead of working problems. Her tests are impossible. If she doesn't like you, you won't do well. Take someone else if you can!

the professor is the worst professor at utc. she does not explain anything and if she does not like you - she will fail you. She does not even care about failing people. Her exams are like a puzzle...no matter how ready you are- she will make you do bad... she is horrible... dont even think to take her..

Dr. McCoskey is very intelligent and polite; however, she needs to reevaluate her tests in this class. Test questions were worded poorly and harder than necessary to test knowledge of course material. Class average was 63 on midterm and 51 on the final! If that is the average, you have to look at the instructor and not the students.

She is OK. people on here really give her more credit that what is due! she is not that helpful and could care less if you understand the material or not. If you know how to teach yourself, you will do fine. if you can take someone else, I would suggest doing so. NOT a great teacher at all :(

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! She is so well prepared. Her powerpoints and in class problems really clear up how to work all the problems. Like someone said before her multiple choices questions can be tricky, but know the powerpoints and you will be fine. She is very willing to help you in or out of class. Attendance not required but is essential

I can assure you that I am not McCoskey, and she is a great teacher. Probably the reason our class average was under 70 is that less than half the class showed up every morning. She was a really great teacher, and I had an easy A. Come on you have to show up for accounting to pass!!

She kept the class interesting and quickly responded to any questions. Tests came from the powerpoints and the homework problem. The class also had required case studies that were sometimes time consuming, but she was very willing to give direction when asked.

Dr. McCoskey is awesome! Take her if you can. She is very organized and has a dry sense of humor (which I like). She tries to make it as fun as possible but she does demand respectable behaviour. Not too much to ask since she gives everyone respect in the classroom.

Tax is boring to me, but she allowed the class to have fun. Lectures are boring, like most lectures, but she was helfpul if you didn't understand something. Gave a TON of extra credit opportunites. Tests were difficult, but extra credit and projects give you ample opportunity to make an "A". She was extremely nice and flexible if you got behind.

She is very helpful, if you read the chapters, do the homework and ask questions, you will do fine. Her multiple choice on the exams are tricky, but the working out the problems is easy if you do the homework.
