This is an extremely text heavy class but she is very understanding on that part. There's a lot to work on in this course but, with her help, the whole experience was a lot nicer and interesting. Her grading scale is absolutely fantastic and it's EXTREMELY hard to fail this course. One word of warning, you must do the work to the fullest!

Love this prof so much. She does her very best to teach, to make sure everyone understands. Happy to slow down and answer questions. Anyone who doesn't pass her class just doesn't care to. Each idea is literally written on the board, multiple times with lots of time for questions. Critical thinking skills learned. LOVE.

Easy to pass, harder to get an A, but totally do-able if you do the work. You can skate by in this class if you are lazy. Though, if you put in some effort you'll learn so much about philosophy, critical thinking, communication. You get out of this class what you put in. MINIMAL homework, and assignments. Expectations CLEAR. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! LOVE

Outstanding professor. - Go to every class, learn how to write a phil. essay, learn every argument presented, pass the exams with an A; too easy. - Lots of reading Plato, Socrates etc. Weekly reading log. Set time aside to read a bunch. Ask questions. Grades on reading log, participation, exams, in class essays. 80% is an A, 70 is a B so forth.

Her lectures can sometimes get boring but listen up. Even if you have to set a voice recorder. Her lectures are very specific to the test and if you keep notes you'll do great on them. Make sure to participate whether in class or on moodle, even if you don't for a week you'll loose the full 25 points. She is very caring and understanding.

She REALLY cares if you learn. Willing to work with different types of learning. Does everything she can to help. The material can be tricky, but one of her classes will help you understand every other class better if you learn the material. One of the best teachers I've ever had.

VERY passionate about philosophy. More of a 200 level class due to higher level of thinking. Had weekly writing assignments in class over lecture, which put more grades in. Grades pretty hard, makes you really work for your grade. Grading scale is helpful, 80-100A, 60-80B, so forth. Difficult 100 level class but hard work will earn you an A.

Overall, she is a good instructor. She really emphasizes on class discussions and you are graded on participation. You have to post to Moodle weekly, and there are weekly writing assignments in class. She does have you do a reading log for the texts she assigns, and you have to write something for every page. It was helpful, but time consuming!

Intro To Ethics done as an objective course wasn't too bad. You have a writing log that she checks periodically and online posts every week. If you keep up with that, copy the notes that she takes during, and ask questions regarding anything you're not sure of...you'll do fine. She's great at clarifying if you don't understand a concept or idea.

Although it is really easy to get a good grade in this class the teacher is very confusing. There is a writing assignment once a week and you have to do some online responses. Plus you have to do writing assignments on the books. The class is pretty easy and you could probably skate by if you wanted to.

Her grading is horrible. Attendance is not mandatory but if you miss one day your totally lost. Her voice is very monotone and boring to listen to. I hated coming to class and the discussions were so far off topic i had a hard time connecting it to what we were actually talking about

Professor Norton loves philosophy. She's very quaint and nice, but she's BORING. She requires a reading log of every page of reading. There's too much discussion in class and not enough teaching. She is helpful if you have time to talk to her out of class. She has a weird grading system, which I really don't like.

Incredibly difficult to keep up with the amount of busywork in this class. You are required to keep a notebook with details of every page of text covered. Your papers will be obliterated in grading unless you can identify her opinion exactly. Exams are an exersize in writing fast and are just the same topics as the papers.

Proffessor is very passionate about philosophy. She is very nice and tries to explain things well. Makes you take notes on all pages of readings which makes for lots of busy work. Difficult grader on papers but uses a different grading scale which helps. Graded on attendance and class participation. Probably a lot less difficult professors outthere

You'll find it easy if you like reading and writing. She grades the essays fairly hard but the final is a piece of cake as long as you do the essays throughout the class. She is really nice and clearly loves the subject though.
