Professor Cutler is pretty strict of grading. In this literature class, there are two take-home essays and two in-class essays. Students need to read about 100 pages of novel every week, which is a lot, especially for ESL students. Consider thoroughly before choosing her novel class.

Ms. Cutler is one of the most strict but also most considerate teacher I've ever had. She grades with toughness, but is also passionate about English and really wants her students to learn. If you are wiling enough to make the effort in and out of class to become a better writer, she's your girl.

Wow. Professor Cutler is amazing. Yes, she IS hard grader, and she goes straight to the point. I absolutely loved this class. Don't be late, miss class, go to the bathroom, or use your phone... she WILL call you out. If you want to learn, take her, and if you are more laid back, look elsewhere. I took her for Eng. 100 as well.

Professor Cutler is a phenomenal teacher who is extremely passionate about the material. I got a B in her class but that's because I wasn't keeping up with the readings. I HIGHLY recommend seeing her with a complete draft before each paper is due, if I had done that I probably would have earned an A. Do the readings and come prepared to class.

She was a really nice teacher. The class was very clear but her grading scales were just ridiculous. She grades too hard and expects your work to be flawless. I do not recommend this teacher unless your passion is writing essays for the rest of your life.

Professor Cutler taught me to clean up my grammar, fix my punctuation and improve my writing in one semester which has helped me to read and write better in all my classes. I consider her the best English teacher I have ever had. Her standards are high which is a great thing because she can you reach there.

I find Professor Cutler a great scholar who is down to earth and committed in helping any student who comes to her for help. Her method of teaching is very easy to follow and she expects commitment to excellence as a return. Its a fair deal and the best you can receive for the paltry community college fees you may pay.

The first time I took one of Cutler's classes was for ENG 100, and I loved her. She was even more amazing for Lit 113(The Novel). She's extremely passionate about teaching, and has exceedingly high expectations for her COLLEGE level English students. If you want to become a better writer take her class, but a lot of effort is NECESSARY!

Very good teacher. I don't know why she has negative reviews. She is very helpful but you have to make an effort to go to her office hours. Hard grader, especially on essays, but I honestly became a better writer after taking this course. I recommend her if you actually want to learn and if you are committed to attending class everyday.

Ms Cutler is very passionate about what she is teaching which makes the class more interesting and fun. I recieved a C in the class, but that was my fault because I was a slacker last semester. She's a tough grader when it comes to the papers, but her comments on the graded papers really help for the next paper. She loves helping the students.

If you're looking to skate, or aren't able to be a responsible college student (be on time, have the books, do the work, ask for help) then you shouldn't book this professor. If you are motivated to learn to write better, stronger, more mature and well constructed college level essays, she is a gem!

Be sure to see her to edit your paper or elese you will get a bad grade. i spent 3 conferences with her editing my essay and all i got was a B-(even though she knew i was working hard)

Prof. Cutler is a nice lady, she loves literature and tries hard to interest her students in it too. Her class is far from easy though-right up there with J.Ball. But if you want to write, and do it well, you won't regret this experience!

Mrs. Cutler is a very hard teacher. She makes for work for your grade but well worth the extra effort. Take the time you visit her office hours for all essays, you'll see a one grade improvement. She picks really interesting books that are fun to read (I'm not a fan of reading but enjoyed this semesters) Be prepared to work hard, NOT an easy A
