I like Colon as a person. She's certainly passionate about what she does. However, the course felt very unorganized. My entire class was lost with what needed to be done. Assignments uploaded to blackboard would say one thing, but Colon would say another in class. Get ready to read and get ready to write. Also, tough grader with group presentation.

Dr. Colon is a great professor and mentor. Her grading is easy, but putting in the service learning hours and doing the writing assignments is what makes up the bulk of the course load. She is sweet, passionate, and very understanding. The readings are easy and the verbal final was literally so easy! Once she sees that you get it, she lets you go.

Comment:

You have to go to Atlantic City twice a week to volunteer. That's what made a lot of people drop. Dr. Colon was one of the best teachers I've had at Stockton. She is flexible with her work and her class is really interesting. Her lectures make class fly by. She is so passionate and so sweet. Definitely would recommend this class.

I went to class the first day and she said we had to go to atlantic city multiple times a week during a time I had to work. There was nothing online saying that you had to do this work outside of class so if you are taking Community Schools Change Agents, be aware.

LOVE HER! I have so much respect for this professor, she seems intimidating at first but once you get to know her she is so nice and wants you to do well. This class requires alot of participation for the group process sessions...and she expects you to read the book! As long as you participate a little in each class you will do fine.

I did not like her. I had her for Theory and Methods I and found that she spends more time talking about how nice her car is and how we're probably all judging her as being a minority than she actually spends teaching. Its also incredibly intimidating to have the head of the department as your professor.

Professor Colon was the BEST teacher I ever had in Stockton and in all my college experience. She has a fantastic personality, listens to concerns, answers any questions, and if you are lucky enough to be liked by her will help you find a job after you graduate. Classes are easy enough, just a wonderful experience!
