Dr. Ackerman is very straight-forward and very specific, and at times can be tough. You have to make sure you are caught up and show up to class everyday, and do the assigned hwork though he does not collect it. This is the best way to stay caught up! Took his honors stats. Difficult, but not bad. Makes himself accessible and will push you.

This is probably one of those exception ratings, because I just had Dr. Ack for Freshman Focus... I don't know much about him in a mathematical setting, but I will say he is an awesome professor who is fairly laid back. Our assignments were pretty easy, and we had a fun project at the end of the semester that each of us presented.

There is a lot of group homework so be prepared to meet after class throughout the week. The tests were hard but fair and the teacher is always accessible outside of class. You can stop by his office anytime the door is open and he responds to emails in a reasonable amount of time.

"Dr. Ack" is a laid back, forgiving teacher who will willingly put in extra effort if you need it to learn. Patient, and definitely a former hippie, Dr. Ackerman asks often if anyone needs help or has questions; no (inner) child left behind. Does reviews and study guides before tests. Is anal about not accepting "passive" language on papers.

Great teacher if you pay attention, but his monotone voice makes it hard to. Work outside of class is extremely dense but the class can be a better part of your schedule if you just try to pay attention to lectures. Will lecture occasionally through lab though, which can be annoying considering you have to finish the work on your own time.

Not a fan. He is the type of teacher that gets mad when you don't ask questions, but when you do, he makes you feel stupid for not already knowing the answer. A ridiculous amount of work is required outside of the classroom. He's a rude dude.

I took Dr. Ackerman in Discrete Math, and he assigned a lot of homework. That being said, he goes over everything that he expects you to learn, and doesn't leave you to wonder what is expected. Very open and accessible. Great teacher

Great professor. Knows how to teach well, clearly understands the material, and does his best to communicate info well. He'll make you work for a good grade, but if you put in the time and effort it's more than feasible. Seems to genuinely care about students' progress.

Really nice guy. Always willing to help. Likes to suck every minute out of every class he possibly can, which can be a drag. He can also be really funny in a weird nerdy sort of way. His tests can be hard but fair, and they won't necessarily break you
