Really enjoyed the class this semester. Best science course Ive had yet. Had to work and study but Dr. Arvin brings a clinical experience to the course that you really cant get from anyone else. Plus hes always there to help after class.

Dr. Arvin really knows the material and the experiments for the human physiology lab. The equipment we used was a little twitchy and he could always get everything to work. Best lab I've taken so far. Fast paced sometimes and you have to stay on track to get done even though its a 3 hour lab.

Likes the class and the instructor. Class was in the evening so it seemed pretty laid back to me. Lots of chances to improve your grade if you attend class. Stayed after class to answer my questions 5 or 6 different times. Easy to talk to.

Great professor. Some people don't like how he can get off topic during lecture, but I enjoyed his medical references to things. Extremely knowledgeable. Funny and entertaining during lecture.

I think Dr. A goes the extra mile to help his students do well. His grading is more than fair. After class on several occasions I've hung around and he is always having what amounts to a mini review session. Last week he was there for over 30 min working with 5 or 6 students who had questions about the material. He stayed till everyone was done.

Good guy, knows the material really well. Had a different instructor for 1551 and I did well but I'm learning so much more in this class. Its fast paced but if you attend class and stay on top of the work its definitely doable. Fair grader, plenty of extra credit to improve your grade if you slip up somewhere. Love the clinical stuff he adds.

Took the class last year. Second time taking class. The first time I had another instructor in summer and it was impossible. She didn't seem at all prepared. Dr. Arvin was completely opposite. Gave plenty of notice for quizzes and tests and always made quizzes over a small amount of material to give you the best shot at doing well.

Like his style a lot. Has a serious amount of clinical experience and try's to incorporate it into lecture topics whenever possible. Makes the material seem more relevant. Includes extra credit in every test and quiz and gives separate extra credit quizzes but you have to be in class to get them.

There was a lot of material at the start of the semester but it got better. Lots of notice for tests and quizzes. Test material really follows the notes he posts on blackboard. Its all in there but you need to study. helped me before every exam with my questions.

Really cool. Helped me a lot when ever I needed it. Always answered my questions. Stayed after class to help a bunch of times last semester. Gives you plenty of opportunities to improve your grade if you screw up an exam or a quiz.

Dr. Arvin is a good guy and his background in the medical field adds some interest to lectures. I recommend printing the student notes and recopying them in your own writing to study. Doing the connect homework is a good review. Having a tutor was definitely beneficial.

Nice professor that will help out students when they ask. However, his lectures are dry and boring. On the plus side, he gives out extra credit quizzes and all quizzes and tests have built in extra credit. Do all the homework and go to class for the pop extra credit quizzes and you will receive a good grade.

Nice guy. Goes out of his way to help students. However, his test are almost impossible. Our first exam was half way through the the semester with no direction or review on what to study. I like him as a person, but it's a hard class .

His lectures are useless unless you are a person who learns auditorily. He lectures STRAIGHT from the book. If you study the book you almost never have to attend the lecture. He gives an unusual amount of extra credit on every exam and has pop quizzes that are extra credit. He is willing to help. His online homework is easy but takes time.

Beware. If youre a hands on learner, dont choose him if you can manage it. All we do in class is stare at PowerPoints for an hour and 15 mins. He completely ignores my emails and each homework assignment takes 3 hours to complete. Tests are composed of soo much information that its inevitable not to get something wrong.

Liked the course and the instructor. Lecturers were interesting. Lots of opportunities for extra credit. Never really had anything on the exams that was not covered in lecture. One of the best instructors I have had.

Second time I took this course. First time from another instructor in the summer who hardly ever held class but tested us on everything. Dr. Arvin's class was completely different. I was able to understand a subject that is not my best. You have to work hard but its very possible to do well if you put in the time. Jokes about his family are great.

I really enjoyed this class and im not a biology major. I hear students complain about the class being hard but hardly ever see them except for tests. What do you expect if you never come to class. Dr Arvin is really helpful. He went out of his way to meet with me when I had questions and when I had to miss class when I was sick.
