He has a bad accent, but if you follow his lecture notes and his example problems religiously, you'll do very well in the class. It was a super easy class, but you need to make sure you pay attention to the little details. One tiny mistake can ruin ur entire grade.

Complete ****. I tried to get help the 3rd week of class, b/c i couldnt make office hours. He told me that he couldnt help and that it wasnt his problem. Oh yeah, and he "misplaced" my final exam, so i had an F sor a few weeks until he found it. Way to go Universtiy of MN!

Michael Bar is the worst when it comes to grading assignments. I got a 50 percent on my first assignment (which was worth 5% of my grade) because I didn't put an "s" above the supply curve. His accent is also frustrating, and he has a dry sense of humor. Also, this guy seems to have a fear of cheaters, as he patrols the lecture halls during exams and yells at kids who he thinks are cheating while his microphone is still turned on. I absolutely hated this class.

Way to harsh on grading homeworks and to dumb about little stuff. You can't really undestand him because of his accent. Class is way to large so its hard to get him to explain well enough.

This guy is awesome. Funny class... easy tests... just study and you will get an A. Those who didn't, didn't study. He is helpful and clear about what to expect on tests. Use the practice tests and you will do fine!

Hint: study the previous exams very closely - test questions are either identical or similar. Extremely rude to students and gets irritated easily. But you can also find a good side to him on some days. Very, very strict with his TA's - leave them no/little room to make their own decisions.

His tests are almost identical to the practice ones he has online. The final even had some questions that were identical to the practice final. Yes, he can be funny and he can seem condescending at times but it isn’t that bad. The class is dull, but easy if you put in a little time.

He used the same or similar examples on the homeworks and tests to help reinforce what you learn. He does go harsh on taking points away on tests and homework if you don't do it just so. He does try to be funny at times and sometimes he gets a few laughs. Not a bad professor but could improve.

Michael bar is about as unprofessional as they come. He wont hesitate to berate you in front of your peers and imply that you are too stupid to be in his class. His grading is unclear and inconsistent. I would not recommend this class to anyone.

For some, he might appear to be funny at times. However, I find his method of teaching often doesn't relate to the HW. He'd give brief examples, and the HW's are very long and different in structure. Tests are somewhat short, so every detail counts when 5 or 6 problems are worth 100 points total.

He's hilarious - I think his cultural references are a total brightener to an early morning econ class. However, he is very condescending of students and snaps at them if they seem like they're asking a "stupid question" Yeah class kinda sucks.

M Bar RULES! This guy is a good professor! you got to love his humor and jokes...he's awesome..I will party with him anyday...the class is pretty easy..just listen to what he says..and GOOD for him if he is a freak on Exam days, it gives everyone a fair chance! Rock on M-Dog!!!
