Since it's a diversity class, you will have to be open-minded. Do not miss out on any classes otherwise you will be lost. If you commit to the assignments, you'll be on his good side. He will tell you like it is and does not hold back. Instructions for assignments are confusing but ask a lot of questions! He will help you out. Very approachable.

He Despises white people! He told us black people came from another solar system and that Aliens have been helping colored people. Talked of spirits and portals and gangs and told the women they'd get raped by ghosts. The dude is crazy! That's just half of it Do Not Take! If you have to, write down all he says and take it to the dean of education.

Comment:

Seriously one of my favorite professors during my first year. Like everyone else, he's a bit intimidating at first, but he knows his stuff. Not the best at technology which can sometimes lead to the class dragging, but other than that, his discussions are always interesting to listen to. This class, is a very eye-opening one. I recommend it to all.

He was such a fun professor to have! He is very passionate about racial issues and gender issues. If you just take what he says with a grain of salt and participate, you will do fine. Do not be afraid to ask questions! He will answer you! Great about meeting with students. Very intense though.

He is an AWFUL professor. He called me out in class everyday and never listened to my answer. I'm not the only one. He tries to embarrass you by asking pointless questions ie. he asked me how I eat pizza WTF! His grading is more concentrated on the format of your answers rather than the content. He was a waste of my time and money. Do NOT take him!

He makes class very awkward not so much in what he brings up but that he will call people out in class and ask personal questions. He grades very easy! I was only taking this because it was required but even if i didnt care about the class it was entertaining at how he called people out and made it awkward so it was worth going to class!

He comes off very strong, and pretty intimidating, but he is very very helpful in anything you need. He is also very understanding and cares a lot about what he teaches. Sometimes not clear on instructions, but lenient if you made an error. If you do the work you are most likely going to do well, because he wants his students to succeed!

I took this class not knowing what I was greating myself into. Now I am very much glad I took this class. Professor Davis' learning styles is interesting. He opens your eyes up to situation that you encounter on the daily, but dont realize you do. A great class and professor I highly recommend it! He's goal is to give everyone an A!!

Great professor, seems obnoxious at first but then you realize he knows what he talks about. He wants what is best for you. Many people seem to not like him. I can understand why, but he is a great guy

Davis talks constantly about being a "master teacher" but he is the poorest excuse for a teacher I have ever had. He is COMPLETELY unorganized, and not approachable whatsoever. Only upside is that the class is an easy A... Try to take this class with another professor if you can!

Intimidating at first...but he will open your mind and inspire you to be a better person and stand up for what is right. Class is easy, important to show up and pay attention, tests are easy if you come to class. Crazy but a good professor overall.

Yes the work is hard, no he does not read it. But you learn a lot. LISTEN TO HIM, he knows how the world works and how to get ahead. He may come off as crazy but he is brilliant, he knows his stuff and will teach you things you need to know but wont find anywhere else. He is an inspiration. Also he has high connections so get on his good side.

I actually like this professor. Yes he has the tendency to rant, and he can get off of topic, but he doesn't sugar coat anything. While some of his stories may seem extreme, there could be a time when we as teachers face extreme situations. He makes you aware of the worst, so you won't be dead in the water if your ever faced with a bad situation.

He has a very non traditional teaching style and I think this throws many students off. However, his classes were interesting, he always likes to get a good discussion going, and I found it a wortwhile class to have starting out as a teacher. he covered a broad range of topics and gave a good, interesting overview about what teaching will be like.

The worst professor I have had. He always rants and raves about how if you are going to be a teacher you are going to get shot or killed and always says how bad kids are. All-in-all he is the worst professor I have had at St Cloud State!!
