I had a different experience with Prof. Foley. He's a really nice and helpful teacher. You have to pay attention in class and be an active student, but other than that he doesn't ask for much.

The man obviously knows his material, but he is extremely boring. I took him in a summer class and for 3 hours straight all he does is talk, non-stop. if it wasnt for the break we got, everyone would go nuts. Some kids in the class left during the break.

Not anywhere near a patriotic U.S. history teacher. He is informative about the material he teaches, but he smuthers you with work -even for a 200 or 300 level class, he tries to make it more like a masters program. Theres just too much pointless work to do--It's not worth taking him. CSI should fire him.

Possibly the most actively patriotic US citizen I've ever met. Understands that it's not enough to engage with the ideals of US history, but that the enaction of those ideals must be examined. This is what he does in his classes, using fact rather than opinion (e.g. history does NOT teach us that Reagan was a great President - that's OPINION!).

This guy thinks his class is the only class his students are taking. Long books to read each week, pop quizzes about things you wouldn't expect to remember from reading the long tedious books. Avoid him at all costs- don't mention that you are conservative or in the military because it will reflect poorly on your grade-

This man has one idea in his mind and everyone elses views are not even considerable. I think he lowered my grade when I told him that many people on welfare choose to be on it! He is from Massachusets.. He reads a book and sympathises with people on welfare in NY...I sympathize with the people who wake up every morning and work for their $.

I took this class summer of 2004. He gave to crash tests which he gipped points off of when I should have had an 80+ on a test he gives like a 78 then gives you a strict C instead of a B-. He is very unfair. He was interesting, but unfair. Discouraging to a student!
