He's hard but you will learn. I took him for my online western history course. It was intense but I learned so much! He is very passionate about his job. He gives great feedback and is very helpful. If your expecting an easy hist course don't take him if you want to learn history, he's one of the best! *Make sure you know how to write good essays

Howell is perhaps the worst teacher I have ever had. He prides himself on picking on students who don't sit at the front regardless of how attentive they are. He began my class by bragging about failing 3/4 of his students at his former college of employment. The man is stuck up and very condescending. Do not take him unless you like being put down

oh, how this man loves the french revolution. i learned enough in this class to sleep through two upper level euro history classes at another university with A's. ie. you'll work your butt off for this one, but you'll learn a lot along the way. and everyone is too dumb to be a hostory major in his book... don't take offenses. we're all ignoramuses.

Dr. Howell is an EXCELLENT professor. He's hard, but interesting and knows his stuff. I went to Scotland with him and his wife, Dr. Camille Howell. It was a fabulous experience. They are wonderful guides ...oh to be as sophisticated as them someday!
