Comment:

There is homework every day and about 4 exams not including the midterm and final. He does not do a good job whatsoever with explaining how to do the problems and makes you feel stupid for asking a question. I found myself just copying everything he wrote on the board without having any idea what was going on.

He' a good professor, but he confuses himself in lectures. It is best to avoid when he does this. Do the assigned practices problems, they show up on tests and quizzes. Show all work.

Comment:

Calc 2 is a hard class but if you show up and put effort in consistently you can pass. Ira is tough on grading but thats just how most professors are at this level of math. He put a little bit of extra credit on one exam and one quiz if you redo it. Overall hes pretty good. Makes the material easy to understand.

Always stands in the way when writing notes on the board. Basically writes out all the definitions and theorems word for word from the book and doesn't put them into terms that make sense. Goes through problems and makes mistakes frequently, confusing if you don't already know what is going on. Tries to answer questions but doesn't explain well.

He can sometimes be picky taking off points for stupid stuff. His head is always in the way when writing notes and his handwriting is horrible. He can't write S's so he writes S with a hat on, but then it looks like a 3. Do book problems, even those that aren't assigned, to help understand. Assigns quiz or homework once a week alternating.

I took him as a summer Precalc class. He is very helpful in his office hours and he is fun to talk to about random stuff. Fun teacher and he doesn't teach too fast. I would take him again if I could.

He know what he is talking about, but is really bad at explaining it sometimes. He often just makes lectures up as he goes. The class doesn't have a very difficult work load, but if math doesn't come naturally to you, you will definitely need to look for help outside of class

He's a pretty good professor in lecture. He pretty much skips unneeded info and goes straight for vital info of how to solve the problems. his easiness rating is inflated because he also teaches math of finance, but still probably the best choice for differential equations. tests parallel homework, but are a race to finish on time.

Very good professor. Does many examples in class and is extremely helpful if you go to his office hours. Has optional practice problems but do them because half show up on quizes and assigned homework. Exams are tough but if you study and hour a night you should be good!

Really nice guy. I'm terrible at math but he tried to make it as easy as possible. Got to use formula sheets that you can write notes on for tests. Great class to take if you need math credits too.

Not a bad teacher, knows what he is talking about but doesn't know how exactly to answer students questions. You get cheat sheets for the tests which are bad but challenging at times. His class gets very boring though when you sit there and do problems the entire time.

Great Professor! Doesn't use the book but teaches the exact material from it. Homework about once a week. Quizes and tests straight from homework. Also posts practice problems on d2l. Very willing to work with students. Take notes in pencil; he changes his mind a lot. Very willing to go above and beyond to help students. Great Professor!

Comment:

This guy is one of the best math professors at Platteville. His notes are a little scattered, but he is always helpful in his office hours. Tests and quizes are relatively easy if you study, and he is a very good grader. Also a really cool guy just to talk to. I would take him over every other math teacher.
