Comment:
I enjoyed Professor Keables' class. It is all lectures and he can move pretty fast, but he makes it entertaining. His tests were more challenging than I expected for a class on weather but still fair. Go to class, take good notes, and study for tests and you will do fine.

I really like Dr. Keables. His is a lecture style class so do not expect an engaging, seminar type professor. He knows the material very well so his powerpoints are very clear. Everything is always available online and he is very helpful outside of class. He takes online attendance every class but someone else can send you the text code to answer.

In class, he reads directly off of powerpoints. He is not very engaging. I studied very hard for all the tests but I did badly on all of them. He expects more from his students than they can give him.

He's really nice and offers a lot of extra credit but a lot of the stuff in lecture and the book is surface level while his tests ask for in depth understanding. In order to get a good grade on the tests you're gonna need to study hard. I recommend taking someone who actually teaches you what you need to know.

I really did not enjoy this course. Keables' lectures are really boring and his tests are very challenging. I would study hard for the exams and would do poorly of all of them. For a basic level science course, he expects too much from his students.

He is really funny and nice, easy to listen to in lecture. Make sure you do the reading and study a lot, because the tests are hard (if you want to get an A)

Really nice guy willing to help outside of class. Powerpoint lectures with 2-question clicker quizes at the end of class= easy points. Tests are a combo of matching, multiple choice, and short answer

As long as you are somewhat interested in the material these classes should not be difficult. I've had Keables for mulitple courses and I really enjoy his teaching methods and he has been a great mentor for me. If you are a business student looking for an easy NATS class, this is not the one for you. However, if you are generally interested in Earth Sciences then take it, you will learn a lot about the world around you.

A nice guy, but pointless labs and VERY hard tests. I studied for 8 hours and got a D on one of his tests (I'm an A/B student). If you attend every class, every review session, every lab, and meet with him outside of class, you might do well.

Interesting material but not the greatest teacher, tests you must study fairly hard for. If you work a little you can get an A easily. Not as bad as Dr. Toy who teaches another quarter of this 3 quarter class.
