Changed professors mid-semester due to our first stepping down and he was a very nice change. Seemed interested in our learning and was very enthusiastic which made class fun and enjoyable. Reminded me a bit of the March Hare from Alice in Wonderland. Taught material other than just the language which was a nice change of pace.

Michael Lane is the Perfect Man. He deserves a perfect rating, because he is the BEST professor. If you get the chance to take a class with him DO IT. You WON'T regret it. He's super understanding and helpful and way too nice! His class was fun, it's one of the only classes I actually went to and that I wanted to go to! I love Michael!

There's a reason Michael has a perfect 5 on here: HE IS PERFECT. Nicest guy ever. He just GETS it. Very flexible and lenient. He's also brilliant and says words I've never heard before in my life in casual conversation. Hilarious and adorable, too. If you haven't had Michael Lane yet, you're missing out. SUPER HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Loved going to his class, even after 3 semesters of teaching French. Dr. Lane makes sure you understand and actually learn what he teaches, but teaches the grammar along with great lessons on different aspects of culture. Definitely try to get into his class!!!

He is precious, always running around the classroom and showing his great enthusiasm for the language. He is excited, which makes you want to be excited too, although everything you learn is grammer that you already know. Overall, I definitely recommend Dr. Lane because he is wonderful.

wonderful professor who is VERY funny and has a great personality. i would hang out with dr. lane outside of class if i could. he has a really easy to understand french accent, unlike other teachers in the dept. he really cares if you are loving the class and he makes it as fun and enjoyable as he can. best french teacher i have ever had

Dr. Lane is a great professor! I had taken Hollenbech (spelling) for 1040 and was dreading taking 1050 because I received a C in 1040. The first day of class I expressed my doubt and Dr. Lane was willing to help and expressed this. He is very approachable and his class is extremely easy as long as you do the work he assigns. PS he is hilarious!

I love Dr. Lane. He is sooo funny, and he couldn't possibly be more helpful. The class is kind of hard, but he tries to make it as easy as possible. He explains why the grammar rules are what they are so you don't have to memorize all the exceptions.
