Pretty much had to self-teach myself the entire class. Unclear, strong accent and mumbles in class. Rushed through the formal definitions in this class, lacked examples and moved on the next section. Does not explain the concepts at all.

Assignments involved some tricky questions but he was always there and willing to assist you whenever you got stuck. Doesn't believe in trick questions so the midterm and final were all questions you had seen before. Super helpful guy really cared about the students if given the chance definitely take a class with him.

The lectures were completely useless, and when you went to his office hours, he wasn't there most of the time! The homework was far above the level of the noteslectures (though still doable). At least the final exam was pretty easy if you did the homework properly. If you want to learn something about ODE, take it from a good professor (not him).

My advice to you is: DO NOT TAKE ANY COURSE FROM THIS INSTRUCTOR. Barely respects anyone. AVOID THIS GUY WHENEVER YOU CAN. Assignments are VERY LONG and VERY TOUGH. EXAMS (especially FINAL) are ridiculously difficult. He's very harsh in his grading too. If you are concerned about learning and getting good grades, then GO FIND ANOTHER INSTRUCTOR.

One of the better math profs I've had. The only thing is his midterm is really easy, and the final is very difficult. I had an A going into the final and got dropped down to a B, and believe me I studied. I left with about 2 mins left and almost the whole class was still writing. I do believe this was the first time he taught this course though.

Dr. Li is a great prof! He is very nice and explains concepts really well. Midterm questions (and I think most of the final) taken strait from the textbook. Doesn't believe in trick questions. Midterm was a breeze and final was non-cumulative (but difficult since it was all vector calc and worth 55%). No doubt the best calc prof I've had so far.

Pretty solid math prof, weekly assignments and quizzes. Tried to tie a lot of stuff to physics which kinda sucked. For the final gave us 50 questions and took them off there but was still a fair test. Overall decent prof.

Absolutely horrible professor. Just prances around smiling as he writes stuff down and mumbles. His notes make no sense, are incomplete, and are full of typos. Not textbook for this class so I'm pretty much screwed. BTW: These comments are coming from a *mathematician*, not someone forced to take a math course and blaming the professor for it.

Weekly assignments and quizzes made sure I studied in a relatively boring course. He certainly tries to involve the class, and gets you to think more than most math profs. Final was tough, though. But easy to study for thanks to the regular quizzes.

Good prof, very nice, very friendly. Gived us the final beforehand, gave us about 40 questions and he selected 10 at random for the final. So it wasn't too bad, very easy if you do the questions 5 times. I would recommend this professor. Thing is he gives a lot of hwk!! but its for your own good.

One of the most friendly and helpful professors I have ever seen. He does a good job teaching the material as well. His assignments and exams are easy and its not his fault if students taking this level of math still find it hard to understand simple integration.

Many examples were from the textbook but he did his best to get the material across. He is very helpful but not the clearest speaking prof in the world. It is fun though to catch the words he messes up, formuler, diwide by, arfa. As far as math profs go, he is amazing. He is also one of the most friendly profs you will ever meet.

Likes to skip around boards in random order when writing notes. He cannot explain anything he writes. For example, he writes an illegible scrawl on the board and proclaims it to be a kernel and continues on. Student asks for clarification on what a kernel is. Li points at board: 'this is a kernel!'

Had no clue how to teach Linear Algebra in comparison to other profs. Held textbook and copied right out of it onto the board. Horrible prof.
