Dr. Podgursky is a funny guy who is knowledgeable about the topic. He can get off track easily and slow down during lectures which was annoying, but you still get in the info you need every day. There's class the day after the exams (which are tricky, go slow). Read the book ahead of class and take good notes. Hard work is key. Study old exams!

Podgursky is the best Econ professor I've had at Mizzou. Econ is difficult in general, but Podgursky makes it fun and thoroughly explains material and has helpful homework and practice tests that help prepare you for exams. He also is open to office hours for one on one help.

Podgurksy's an interesting professor. His tests are extremely difficult, but please, don't let that discourage you from taking him. As long as you study, attend class and actually care about the class, you'll pass with zero issues. The dude does have an obsession with tofu.

Dr. Podgursky is really an awesome professor. He has cheesy economics jokes, which are kind of funny. He makes his lectures interesting and explains concepts thoroughly. Econ 1014 is not an easy course, so attending lectures and doing the readings are the best way to get a good grade. Exams can be tough, but you do get a one page cheat sheet.

Podgursky is a good lecturer, I would love to hear him lecture on something that I actually like. He talks about tofu in ever example he gives, which can get pretty funny. The tests are super hard, but there is a pretty big curve. DO the reading and homework. And read the book.

Podgursky is a good professor and occasionally funny. His use of real world examples is helpful. However, if you do not read the textbook you will most likely not pass the class. Understanding concepts is key, so if you need to, go get help at the econ help desk.

It's clear that Podgursky knows his stuff, but his lectures can be kind of dull and sometimes confusing. Reading the online text book is very helpful. His tests are extremely difficult, but don't worry because he gives a huge curve on the tests and the class. He makes a ton of references to Tofu.

He's an overall good and smart professor but you need to have an excellent handle on the content to be able to apply it to some of the tests. Teaches lectures well and I feel like I understand the content but the tests are just brutal.

He's passionate about his subject and willing to help students, although you need to take initiative and seek him out during office hours. Hits the highlights of his readings in class and is making an effort to be more technologically adept. Tests and papers are no gimmie, but if you do the readings and can write coherently you'll succeed.

It's very important to not miss class. Being an 8am, I missed a lot and therefore paid for it. He's tough, but fair. Everything is straight from the book. Tests have HUGE curves, so don't freak out when you don't know everything

Podgursky doesn't believe in easy classes, so naturally you can assume how his class is. If you show up to lecture, go to the study sessions, and read the book you will be perfectly fine. I'm only a freshman, but his class has easily been my favorite.

The tests pose a lot of hypothetical scenarios and are hard to pass. The class as well as the tests have a huge curve due to the difficulty of the material.

Michael is a goofball. It is honestly worth showing up just to hear what random things he will spout off. Read the textbook. The textbook is equivalent to the bible in his class. It is more important than showing up to class.

Podgursky is a nice guy, but is awful technologically. He will never update blackboard so you will know what type of grade to expect and don't expect him to get back to you via email. Expect lots of references to tofu and Justin Bieber. He likes making jokes about journalism students so if you're a j-kid and fairly easily offended, steer clear.

This class made me love econ. The tests are completely reasonable and can be aced by rereading the chapters and coming to class and taking good notes! Even if you miss class, all the material is in the book. Great professor. Hard work gets you an A. Great jokes too
