Comment:

Radelet is a really good guy with interesting lectures. The tests, however, feel really unrepresentative of what you learn. Focus is on insignificant details to make sure you picked up every word instead of actual important concepts, which makes studying difficult. Super frustrating, but I enjoyed the class regardless.

He lectures by telling stories and writes very few things on the board. I believe he is pretty straight forward about what he expects and to the time to hear how we thought the test went and what he could do better. He is an odd guy but it is fun to hear about his work and life story. Make sure to go to the review sessions before the tests!

Comment:

Professor Radelet is easily one of my favorite professors at CU Boulder. He knows his stuff surrounding criminology and specifically the death penalty. Attendance is mandatory and tests are challenging but if you study the text and study what he said in class it's an easy A.

Just terrible! He doesnt have any notes for the class, speak through the whole class. Exams contains a lot of details of what he said in class. Some details are not even important but appears on the exam. I will not take this class again.

Professor Radelet seems to be more concerned with getting a chuckle out of his students than he is teaching. Lectures get way off topic and are riddled with inappropriate jokes and stories. If you take his class, make sure to read the book, you'll get a lot more from it than you will from him. Attendance is mandatory.

Dr. Radelet is really interesting and fun to listen to. He was involved in the trials of numerous major cases and has spoken to tons of people on death row. He is passionate about his subject and the tests were relatively easy - half from lecture and half from the book. He gives a huge curve at the end of the semester so you do better than expected

Professor Radelet is a great professor and is very knowledgable in criminology, specifically death penalty work. However, some of his lecture drag on a bit, but I learned a lot! He passes out an attendance sheet everyday, so it's important that you go to class. Overall, this class was worth taking, and having it with Radelet was exceptional.

very disrespectful to students when he disagrees. Only easy to contact when he needs something from you. Tests pick out smallest of details that don't matter in the context of the class.

Dr. Radelet is a world renowned expert on capital punishment and a very interesting professor to learn from. He has some of the best stories that sometimes leave you unsure if you should laugh or just sit in disbelief. You will need to work in his classes, but they are extremely rewarding and worth ever bit of time you put in.

Radelet is hands down the best professor I've ever had. He made want to get up for his 8am class. He's got a dark, sarcastic sense of humor that's absolutely hilarious. He gets sidetracked and tells a lot of stories, but they are always interesting and usually relevant. Super nice guy who will work with you all semester to help you succeed!

Prof. Radelet has a background in working on capital punishment and the death penalty which makes for some interesting stories. He has a dark sense of humor that is sometimes uncomfortable to sit through. The content is interesting and he's a funny guy, but be prepared to go really off topic in class. LOVE this professor! He's brilliant, hilarious, and tells the best stories! He does have a dark sense of humor, but it makes class so enjoyable. He is very well-respected in his field, and you'll be hard pressed to find another professor that knows as much about the death penalty as he does. Tests draw both from reading and lecture. Hands down, the most effective, influential teacher in my life. Mr. Radelet changed opened my mind to a new way of thinking and perceiving life. I hope one day that I will have the opportunity to influence someone's life, even a fraction of the way Mr. Radelet influenced me. Thank you.
