GO TO CLASS! If you miss a class, you won't have all of the information needed for his tests. Also, take good notes because even though he gives you a test review, you will need to know other information. Overall he is a really solid professor who is passionate about what he teaches and makes class very interesting.

Although attendence is not mandatory, I would highly reccomend it for content. Make sure to study for exams as they are the only grades, except for a writing assignment and lab grade, a good experience overall, Dr. Slattery is a professor who cares about his course, and content, and makes it interesting.

Dr. Slattery is very passionate about the topic and he makes it so interesting, he genuinely cares about his students. Great choice for non science majors and easy core class. Attendance isnt mandatory but definitely helpful for tests. 3 tests and one minor essay. Lab isnt that bad!

Slattery is passionate about his work and interesting to listen to. His class is in a 200+ person lecture hall so he doesn't take attendance, but it is useful to go because he gives out a lot of test questions during lecture. Labs are easy. Only 2 test and a final which are 100% based on the textbook. Just need to read all the chapters before tests

This is a really good core class to take and is an easy A as long as you show up. Doesn't take attendance but you should go because a lot of test questions are from what he says in class and not on the powerpoints posted online. You only have a couple exams to determine your grade along with your grade in lab. Lab was the worst part but very easy.

Dr. Slattery is the best! As long as you go to class this should be an easy A, he doesn't take attendance but it will help you understand the material! Dr. Slattery is an expert in this field but he really helps you understand the material and doesn't expect you to be as smart as him. Easy lab too!

Slattery is the best. I'm a biology major, took this class for my minor, learned a TON but did have to study a decent amount to get an A(but still way less studying than a Bio class requires). He's a generous grader. This class made me wish I was an ENSC major. Cool class, easy lab.

THE BEST PROFESSOR. he is very passionate about wind and rhinos. grade is 3 tests and lab. you need to go to class to do well and all the bad comments on here are just because after the first test, people stop coming to class. HE IS ONE OF THE BEST PROF. keeps his opinion out of teaching and admits where he is biased. go to office hours before test

Not a terribly hard class, but you have to go to class to do well on the tests. Grade is only dependent on 3 tests and then your lab (labs are easy). Nice guy, not hard tests but you just have to memorize and learn all the information to do well

One of my favorite professors at TCU. He is clearly an expert in his field and always answers questions very well. Your class grade will be 75% tests and 25% labs so make sure you study and attend lectures. If you're interested in learning the science behind Climate Change you will walk away from this class very pleased.

It is lecture heavy and you need to go to class for sure. Dr. Slattery welcomed comments and questions during lecture. I loved that he provided reviews that were not ridiculously overwhelming! If we don't understand what he is saying he clarifies and makes sure we get it. You definitely have to work hard, but it's not impossible to get an A!

He is good at explaining things and he knows a lot. But his tests are ridiculously hard. You have to memorize all the statistics and specific details from the book and from the slides. He makes you draw graphs or diagrams or even both. If you want to get an A:read, take notes, go to class, memorize, and get good grades on the labs. Labs are easy.

Dr. Slattery is a good dude but if memorizing charts and graphs is your thing take this class. Awesome lectures but the test are nothing but regurgitating information that you hear during lectures.

You have to go to class. He goes over material in class that isn't in the book and will be on the exam. He is extremely helpful and will go over the material with you. Very interesting subject, but you will need to read, take notes, and study to pass. The only grades are 3 tests and the lab grade.

Super passionate about his subject, which makes it easy to listen to his lectures. Attendance is critical because he mentions specific questions and diagrams that will be on the tests. The only grades are 3 tests and the lab grade, so you won't have much homework, just study hard! If you go to class and take good notes, you'll be good!!

People are really tough on Dr. Slattery. He is an extremely smart man and knows everything about his subject. You have to go in and talk to him often and he will help. Most people that don't attend lectures perform poorly on tests. ATTEND CLASS, write down everything he says and take notes out of book. He's helpful with grades if you worked hard!!!

After getting an A+ in contemporary issues in Bio I figured this class would be about as easy. WRONG. Lectures were BEYOND BORING and monotonous. The tests were more about solving scientific equations or explaining the molecule reactions in the different layers of ozone ect... Ruined my GPA by barely passing with a C so now I have to retake it! :)

I really liked this class and Professor Slattery!! He's really well informed about the subject, but understands that you aren't and doesn't expect you to be a genius. The lectures are interesting, but there are only three tests and a lab grade, so you have to do well on the tests. They aren't hard though, if you go to class and pay attention.

Slattery is the most intelligent teacher I have ever had. He is basically a master in this subject but his classes are extremely fast paced and can be overwhelming. Tests are incredibly difficult even after hours of studying. Worth taking because I did learn a lot but by no means is it easy

This class is difficult but it is not if you put a lot amount of time studying and attend his office hours if you are lost. This is a fast paced class and if you go see him in his office hours, he explains with more clarity. However, labs are easy and they help!
