Great professor who makes you work for your grade. Has multiple writing assignments and is one of the few professors that still values the quality of someone's writing. Will be very tough with feedback, but you'll learn a lot and be thankful for his comments in the end.

He makes you buy his textbook- annoying formatting but pretty comprehensive. Nice guy, but tends to ramble/repeat during lecture. Relatively approachable, makes it really easy to follow directions and get As on assignments- just don't argue with him. Minimal work for the class, interesting subject.

this guy just LOVES to talk about himself and how good of a textbook he wrote. overall the class isnt bad, he seems generally knowledgable and interested in students understanding the course. the two papers were incredibly annoying, but not too challenging. the class is huge, you have to rely on TA

Very easy class, bridging on waste of time. Lectures are boring and insignificant. If taking PSC 001, I'd look elsewhere, especially if you want a challenge and want to learn something.

the lectures are pointless and the class is an easy A since the papers are graded fairly. Jake is the best TA and very helpful. sodaro was a bit arrogant, but he knows what he is talking about and was willing to edit my papers. learned a lot from the papers and not his lectures. liked the class and would take it again.

If you are a poli sci major and want an easy A, take this class. Sodaro's lectures are pointless. Grading is done by discussion attendance/participation, a policy memo (perhaps the only real work in the class), an extremely easy midterm on key terms, and two papers. The paper are kind of a ****, but he basically does them for you. Easy A.

Very Easy, TAs do all the grading. Midterm is only key terms, no final. Two 5-7 page papers where he tells you almost exactly what to write. No need to go to lecture, go if you are actually interested in the subjest, it can be interesting at times.

Sodaro is TERRIBLE. Lectures are completely pointless. The TA made the class, I got lucky and got a really good one. But if you have to take this class, and if your a poli sci major you will, take Sodaro cuz its so damn easy.

Never went to lecture, only discussions. He wrote the book so his midterm is so easy and straight forward- define key terms bolded in the book. Then no final, just 2 5-7 page essays that he outlines perfectly for you. Very easy. He tries to make it interesting. Very approachable and wants students to do well (offers paper revisions, extra credit)

This is a terrible class and the TAs are useless. The lectures are irrelevant to anything that the textbook contains, which he wrote and is also useless. Don't waste your time and your parents' money by taking this class.

If you have actuall interest in the topic hes a great professor and you'll learn alot. The people who dont like him are generally the ones that dont read and dont go to class. His lectures ARE pretty interesting for those who actually go. I had Enze for my TA. Nice guy but pretty much useless.

This class is a rite of passage here at GW. He is a very smart man, but this class is not demanding, just some fun. You can skip the lectures if you like. The essays are not hard. He tells you exactly what he wants, paragraph by paragraph.

His textbook is total crap. He slanders marxism a lot in it, and it's not even good slander, just lazy slander. Not a hard course but it's waste of your time and your parent's money to take it seriously.

Awesome class. Sodaro is very smart, fun, and easy. You'll learn a lot. I also like the essays he gave because it forces you to really learn the stuff; much better than having a test where you try to cram everything and wind up learning nothing. Wish he taught more classes...

Don't take this class unless you have excellent grammar. He grades 50% on content and 50% on grammar and writing style. Be prepated to work but also learn something. He's the nicest man just very demanding.
