Michael was by far the best, most well rounded, fascinating professor I've ever had the pleasure to take a class from. He is kind, clear about expectations, incredibly competent & his care for his students is undeniable.

This class was not particularly difficult, his expectations are very clear. It is obvious that he cares a lot about the subject, however I thought he was kind of out of touchon specific topics. He spent far too much time on 'green' ideology, while his lectures on feminist, civil rights ideologies were lacking. His discussion of gender was so basic.

Made it hard to fail the class, as he always provides "free points" on assignments. ALWAYS OPT FOR ESSAYS when choosing exam formats, trust me. There were two 4-6pg papers on 2 different novels we were assigned to read. His lectures were very clear and informative. One of my favorite instructors at PCC

Instructor Sonnleitner is very effective in his lectures that if you just sit down with a blank mind he can pull your interest and provoke your own views .I agree that his grading should consider opinions and arguments but his exams do evaluate effectively if you read the textbook at all and you can't bs your way by guessing.

Michael is awesome. Unfortunately, the lectures are often times distracted by off-topic ignorance on the part of certain students, which is barely reigned in by the professor, making it difficult to want to come to class, even though it is mandatory to do so. Hard hard A. If you want to learn though, this is the guy for you.

This class is tough! But, was probably the hardest subject I ever enjoyed. The professor brings humor and personality to a very dry subject. I would highly recommend taking this class, but not for those looking for an easy "A".

I'm a fan. Tough tests, but he's very clear on what will be expected. I like classes where people who work hard earn better grades; this is one of those classes. Also, he gives super informative lectures, don't be absent!

Michael is a wonderful man and teacher. Those who are moving on to university after PCC, however, be warned: his style demands your time but not necessarily critical thought. His exams/papers are geared toward remembering facts rather than making arguments. It's been a rude awakening going to U of O and finding that it's even that much harder.

I've had Sonnleitner for PS 211, 205, and 225. Clearly, I think he's a great teacher. Very helpful and fair in his grading. Don't take him if you want to B.S. your way through essays/exams. It won't work. This is an adult class that requires discipline and effort and prepares you for what's in store once you transfer to a university.

Michael is probably one of the best teachers out there, his class will prepare you for a four year school, but if you don't put in the time to study you will not like the results. he is no joke and is highly recommended for the true student!

Michael is an amazing teacher! i learned sooo much in his Peace & Conflict class. He really challenges you to think outside your box and do your best. plus he lets you take as much time as you need for exams. for the final, we had 4 hours to do it, but i needed an extra hour and he stayed. he's an amazing person :)

Knowledgeable guy but pushes his point of view. Exams are not easy and you can't just BS your way through them. This is one of the more difficult classes I've taken and have probably learned the most from it too. I would recommend any of his classes if you want to be challenged. Avoid them if you are looking for an easy A.

Definately knows his facts. Very clear and concise lecture which is great for the visual learners. The down side is his grading. Tests are more difficult and you need to know a lot of facts.

Sonnleitner is very unique in his testing style. Tests are mostly essays, yet must include a certain, predetermined number of facts. If you pay attention and do your work, it is a very hard class to fail. he is also very flexible, and will work with you on due dates and the like. Also, he is a very animated guy. Would recommend his class for sure.
