Writing Poetry literally changed my life. I took it for credit toward my English minor and while my class was amazing Theune was also amazing. He is super approachable and as long as you TRY--write poems, participate, listen to others' work--you're going to get an A

If you're a serious writer, then you need to take Senior Writing Project. Professor Theune will make you work hard, but it's necessary in order for you to learn how to be the writer you want to be. While sometimes biased, he gives excellent feedback and will do anything to help you out.

definitely my best professor and class thus far at Wesleyan. Extremely engaging in class, always creates a fun atmosphere and helps students out when needed. If you're unsure if a paper is good, he will definitely revise it, help you with ideas and then conquer it! Theune is the man

Theune is one of the best professors I have ever had. He makes his classes very engaging and fun, and there is hardly ever a dull moment in his class. He can be a little tough when grading papers, but he is always willing to help you out.

Definitely a fun guy, but it's scary some of these posters have reached groupie-status. Challenging teacher, pretty good sense of humor, although on his bad days he can be rude. But the way some people seem to worship him is kind of sickening. Settle down people, he's a decent teacher, nothing more.

seems real fun and down to earth, the hip young professor at first but just wait. If you have an actual problem or need help, he's not so fun or down to eath. Also beware of the Thuene groupies and don't become one of them. Just because you enjoy someones class doesn't mean you have to worship the ground they walk on. Really, its pathetic.
