I started off taking notes in class but I couldn't understand or keep up with what he was talking about to by the end of the semester I ended up just dozing during lecture instead. I would read the chapters in the textbook and it helped me to understand the content much better than whenever I was listening in class. he's a nice man, though.

Comment:

I learned far more chemistry in his organic lectures than I ever learned taking general chemistry. I found the textbook homework was also vital to pass his tests. His grading method was unclear and I still do not understand how I received a C. Some people who score lower throught the semester may receive the same or a higher grade.

Comment:

Tests are hard, but that's organic chemistry for you. Dr. Wells is kind and gracious, and has a witty sense of humor that he delivers well. He explains things clearly and always takes questions. I'll never forget the time he threw a marker 100 feet into the trash can. The whole class celebrated with him, and he let us out half an hour early.

Dr. wells is a good professor. Presentations are really clear. he draws his notes on teh cmpouter in class and saves them then puts them notes on line. very helpful. He oftn says he is an amateur psycologist. He let us out 10 minutes early today because hse said we were "emotionally already on spring break". so true.

Take Dr. Wells for Organic Chemistry if you want to understand what's going on. Take Dr. Blue if you want to be confused. Organic Chem is hard, but having a good teacher makes all the difference in the world! Grades based on 3 tests, lab, and final, but final can replace lowest test grade if its higher. Very helpful teacher, taking him for Chem228

I took Dr. Wells this fall. His test were extemely hard. Some people did not like the written portion of his tests but I did. I was an opportunity to show what you really know rather than guessing at a multiple choice wuestion. He told us how to get the chi but not about teh green store. Maybe he'll tell us about the green store next semester.

I had the class over the summer. It was a good class. The tests were hard and you have to study a lot. I ended up with a B for O-chem 1 and an A for O-chem 2. Dr. Wells is a really good teacher. He said that he was a "semi-pro" body surfer. He does not look that fit, however.

HILARIOUS!!! his jokes make class go by so much faster! organic is a tough class no matter who the teacher is. you def have to study but dr. wells gives all his old tests and usually his test questions are from old tests. he usually doesn't take attendance but its hard to catch up if you miss class! i def recommend taking dr wells!!!

Dr Wells is tough on tests and if chemistry isn't your thing you may have around a B all the way through but his final is a piece of cake. It is ALL old test questions. I came out with an A after having a B all semester b/c of that. On top of that you actually learn something because he keeps you so entertained with his stories. (THE GREEN STORE!)
