Overall, I enjoyed the class. He was a nice man with a little quirky side. Although his assignments can be somewhat difficult, as long as you show that you try and ask questions, you should pass. He is also one to let you know exactly what assignments you are missing, even if it is from earlier in the semester.

One of the most pretentious people I've ever met. Doesn't let students critique each other and only talks about the pieces that are "the best." Is very harsh with grades and extremely unsympathetic. You'd better have all of your materials on day one or you will be practically reprimanded.

This teacher is absolutely awful. I have never had a teacher litteraly make me cry in class. He told me to give up on art completely because I couldn't shade properly, after I had asked if he could give me further instruction. He was unwilling to help me or listen to me. I would never suggest to take this class if you still want to draw in the futu

Great teacher! He always has helpful advice on how to improve your artwork. I disagree with whoever said its hard to get a 6 out of 10 most times. NOT true. I am defiantly not a great artist but getting a good grade isnt that difficult. The Quizzes are extremely easy, he goes over the entire thing so there are no surprises. overall good class!

I highly disagree with previous comments. Mr. Wheelden is critical, but if you've EVER taken an art class before, you will find that IS helpful!!! He is not doing it to be mean, but to improve your work! Easily one of thee best, and most fun, art teachers I have ever had. My art improved so much after taking his class. I loved it.

Amazing teacher! Has given ART a new breath of fresh air! I look forward to going to his class everyday, not only is he an amazing teacher, but his artwork can back it up! He's funny and I feel at ease in his class.

He's not helpful at all!!! But he is very critical and sometimes harsh. And you're lucky if you get above a 6 out of 10 on your work after you get done with drawing boxes. I do not recommend him... take the class with another instructor!

He is a great teacher. I really got a lot out of his class. Each project helps you with the next project. Wheelden really put thought into his curriculum & I appreciate it. I find the people that aren't serious about why they're in the class to be the ones that don't like him. Overall I learned a lot, my work improved, & I ended up w/ A.
