He would like to walk around in the lecture room without a microphone, which makes the lecture soooooooo inaudible!!! Also, please be aware of VERY TOUGH TESTS!!!!

Lectures seem unorganized but in fact are really well-designed. The best part of the class is the ugly puppy model, which includes all the important principles of accounting. I narrowly missed all three A-insurance quizzes but got the A bonus on final. It gives me a lifelong lesson: one step close to perfect means nothing. Only perfect is perfect.

People thought that he was really hard, but he grows on you! He wants you to succeed and if you put the time and effort in, then you'll do just fine. If you notice an error in his work, tell him. I almost failed the class due to a careless error, but him knowing my face saved me and i ended up with an A

He's a pretty cool guy and over-all I liked him. I felt his lectures lacked a little structure and he doesn't explain things too well; but he encourages questions and will re-explain things. He does offer lots of extra credit and is pretty funny, but I would recommend using sources outside of class to learn the material if you don't understand it.

Professor Michael Willoughby may 'know his content well' but in no way will help you understand the course content. His lectures are all over the place going off on tangents and offensive jokes, there is no textbook, he sells his reader for the course which is also unclear, his exercises are unorganized, and he creates an atmosphere of competition

Answering his questions and asking good questions can earn you extra credit. Sometimes gives pop "quizzes" which he call Exercises. Midterm and Final LOOKS doable, but I always score much lower than expected, both open book. Only 5 out of 35 students got As, 4 of them because they have the 3 highest Final Exam scores. Great teacher, hard exams.

He is a funny guy. However, his lectures are not organized. His reader is weel designed. Open reader/laptop/calculator exams/quizzes. Quizes are designed and I quote "to shock you". A movie is also part of this class. A lot of questions in the final will base on this movie. Make sure you watch it and memorize important details. Hard class general.

He spent a huge chunk of the class time rambling on useless stuff. I deeply regret spending 34 bucks on the "required" textbook because it was just as aimless as his lecture. And it was written by him. And please don't brag about doing 3 or 4 digits subtraction in your head. Just don't. It made me cringed.

He is the best professor I have ever met. Many students here said it was poor, but i thinks it was because they did not even read the textbook at all. If you just focus on his lecture and study regularly, this class will be really easy. I just read the textbook, focused on his lecture, and studied with his slides. Finally, I got an A on this class.

Willoughby was scary, to begin with, and his reliance on participation points and a crazy competitive grading scale made the class seem very hostile. He teaches good information, especially since it is an intro class. One crossword puzzle quiz, an open-book partner midterm and an open-book final (really difficult though). Good luck!

The most hateful thing about a textbook is saying a bunch of abstract stuff without giving an example. He does it throughout the reader. And he makes everybody buy his new reader every quarter with maybe just some slightly changes in words or order. He is a merchant rather than a teacher.

Comment:
His tests are TOO DIFFICULT especially the FINAL. The lecture could get boring because he sometimes goes off topic from the lecture. His class is unorganized and I learned much by making notes on his reader (which you can use for midterm and final). However, very generous on his grading scale as 80% could get you an A-!

Don't get me wrong, he knows the material in his field really well. It's just that, the way he lectures may be a bit challenging. He writes everything on the chalkboard; and it's pretty small so I recommend sitting near the front. The reader does help you understand the material. BE SURE TO BE UP TO DATE WITH NORDSTROM, he's a big fan!

He has a course reader that was very confusing to understand, so even though we could use it during exams it didn't make much of a difference. He is a bit condescending and creates a competitive atmosphere by ranking his students. The final is practically impossible and worth 50% of your grade. Don't take him.

I'll start off by saying, is this class hard, it difficult because he is a terrible instructor. He is a good guy, but horrible instructor! In 10 weeks you don't actually start learning anything useful intil you hit week 5/6. Wish there was alternative class to take (i.e MGT 45)

It's hella eazy with minimal homework assignment. I can complete the midterms in 30 minutes and score just fine enough to get A. Final is optional if you make it to No.1 in the ladder.

Worst professor forever!!! No homework, No practice questions, and only one sucky reader which is edited by him!!! Doubtlessly Econ 4 is hard, and it's so hard to make progress with a bad professor.
