It's hard to know what he's looking for when writing papers because his instructions were very vague and general. When lecturing about theories of narration, it's sometimes hard to understand them because he doesn't connect them to the assigned readings. He lectures through the course but doesn't make efforts to ensure students' comprehension.

This class is primarily a writing class, but that is good. He will provide plenty of helpful feedback on your papers. You do have to do a lot of reading and writing, and yes, the lectures are a bit long, but this class is fantastic to improve your writing in French. I would recommend this professor.

Assigns long papers and not very clear on his instructions. It's also hard to participate because his lectures are very long and students don't get a lot of time to contribute to class discussions.

M. Sirvent is a pretty cool guy. He isn't always clear on what to do or on major projects. If you show up to class, participate a little, and try to improve your French then you will do great!

He's very strict but very fair. Though I never liked him because he never answered my questions regarding assignments when I needed him to. But as long as he sees you trying hard to improve french, he'll be fair with you in regards to grading.

Dr. Sirvent is a great professor! He is really nice as well, and is very clear on what he expects from you. He lets you know what he wants from you in class both in person and on BB. Definitely must do all the work and go to class, but if you do so it's worth it

I took the Advanced French Readings as one of my first past the 2050 level. Mr. Sirvent only wants you to improve no matter where you are in French. You just need to do the work, show up to the early class, and show improvement with your French and it's an easy A.

He is helpful and encouraging. Be prepared to speak in his class. Attend all classes and read all texts and do all homework and speak at least once a lecture and you will pass. Don't be afraid to talk to him. He is really nice!

Dr. Sirvent is a wonderful prof. He challenges his students and expects the most out of you, which sadly, is something lacking in a lot of profs at UNT.BE PREPARED!SPEAK UP! but he really adds a real life french quality to his classes that you don't get most anywhere else. He even let me get away with missing class for a week cos I went to paris!

Dr. Sirvent expects a lot of his students, but grades fairly based on the work you put into the class. Make sure to read your material for class and to discuss the material in class. Not showing up or remaining silent are good ways to get a B instead of
