Don't take this if you don't like Shakespeare. You'll write one or two one-page essays every week that are usually on related materials that she posts. The majority of the class is discussion-based. She provides extremely good feedback and brings a passion to that class that makes it that much more enjoyable.

Class is discussion based, analysing thr text you read outside of class. Lots of writing assignments, but if you show up to class and pay attention theyre not too hard. If youre not into Shakespeare, probably not a hood fit for you. Very good at helping when struggling with material. Wonderful person, very genuine.

Wonderful professor! For my course attendance was mandatory, but I looked forward to going every day because her in class discussions were so fun and interesting. The themes analyzed in class will help you write your assigned papers.

Classes could be a bit boring at times but workshopping time was really helpful. She didn't give us any grades until after the term had ended so it was a bit difficult to tell where you were at grades wise. As long as you participate and give good feedback on other peoples essays you'll do fine.

She taught us different ways to write a non-fiction piece. We had easy assignments (I don't write a lot and don't like it so yes it was easy) due for class and she didn't grade them. As long as you participated in class and gave feedback to your group members and showed improvements its an easy A.

I had her for Shakespeare in the Age of Elizabeth. She is a very interesting and engaging lecturer. She even took our class to see a play! The reading can be a bit much sometimes. ( 5 plays in 7 weeks). She also gives 1 page essayresponses about once a week, two 4-page essays, and a final exam. She is really fun! Take this course!

Very nice person by gives lots of reading to do. Don't think it is a 1000 level class considering the workload is a bit high.

Great teacher with a clear love for what she does. Her Shakespeare class was a blast - lots of hands-on activities, including acting out scenes. We got to go and see a show, too. She asks a lot from her students - expect at least one essay every week - but rewards them well for it. The class is pretty easy if you pay attention and manage your time.

took Creative Writing: Short Story. Great class! We read a lot of short stories and had to write a lot. We had some interesting discussions in class, so be prepared to speak up, because that is a big part of your final grade.

Took Lit. of Sin with her. She grades papers pretty hard, but class participation was 30% of grade so as long as you show up and talk your grade shouldn't be too bad in this class. Probably one of the only english classes I have enjoyed at WPI, she is a very engaging speaker. Also let me turn in a paper two weeks late , very accommodating.

Interesting, inspiring, good LOR. I wrote what is perhaps my greatest literary achievement as one of ehr homework assignments. AND she's willing to take class outside on a sunny day.

She is a very engaging teacher and clearly interested in the subject (Shakespeare). Lectures are mostly discussion based and get pretty deep. Grading on papers was pretty harsh but she scales at the end of the term so don't worry about your grade. Overall, she is pretty hard but a good teacher.

Can you say grading on a curve? Not terribly hard but without fail, there'd be an a or two, a couple c's and pretty much b's for everyone else.

Way too many books for a 7 week term. Not enough time to discuss. The end of term is very rushed. Very helpful, answers most questions well.

Shakespeare class was full of discussion and fun to participate in. A strict but fair grader on essays and an awesome teacher to have to transition you from highschool style to college style writing.

The class itself was not overly bad but can become very hard if you are bad at interpreting Shakespeare. If you listen and participate, a good grade is possible although it can be very hard to stay awake. Plus I think she hated me....
