Best professor I have ever taken! She is so sweet and you can tell she really cares for her students. Tests are open book and open notes. She will give you a study guide that is basically the test. Every unit there is a presentation that you will either do alone or with a partner but its supper easy. I wish I could take her again! She's amazing!

What I liked about this professor is that she curves your test scores and she usually passes everyone!! ONLY if you show up to class everyday. What I didnt like was that her lectures are boring but she lets us use our notes and book for tests

She seems like a very kind lady, but as a professor she was terrible. Her criteria is unclear and she is always jumping from topic to topic when lecturing that you get very confused. Youre going to basically have to teach yourself from the textbook. She completely ruined my GPA and this is supposed to be an easy general ed. Do not recommend her.

This hurts me to say but this class was a JOKE. Her idea of teaching and making points to us was by making other students teach the lectures, and at one point showing us a Disney movie. Sure seems like it's an easy A at first but when the test came, the context was nothing to what we were "learning" about. It made it almost impossible to even learn

The class was really interesting and enjoyable. She told lots of stories and lectures weren't as boring as some people are saying. She lets you use your book and notes on the tests and gives out study guides for each one. She also gives lots of handouts which are helpful. She doesn't use canvas too just fyi.

One of the most inspirational professors I have ever had at PCC. Please take her! She will change the way you think and feel about yourself in the most positive way. You just need to have an open mind. Test are hard, but make sure you study everything she gives you.

First impression was that she was really unorganized. Most of the time she couldn't remember where we left off in the lectures. Her lectures are so broad and seem so boring. It almost seems like shes teaching without the quality of wanting her students to learn. I love sociology but this class was my first uninterested class I've experienced.

She said participation helps but she only remembered some people's names, so participating was sometimes pointless. She lets you write in the book and gives you some time on the test to use it but it wasn't sufficient enough because the questions weren't something you could look up in the book. Her lectures were dry, I didn't feel like I learned.

She is the most caring professor I have ever had! She genuinely cares about her students passing. If you have questions she's always willing to help. Tests are multiple choice, not too bad as far as difficulty level if you've done most of the reading. But if not, tests are open note/book. There is a lot of reading but no/very little hw. TAKE HER!!!

Prof has 2 txtbooks to lend out to students if needed, physical book/loose-leaf needed for exams, all open book & open notes. Thought reflections just need to have straight-forward answers full points. Presentations might get more points if powerpoint + relating to real life is used. Attendance part of grade & she gives lectures/hints for tests

Tests are open note open book. She assigns a lot of group work for group presentations. She gives out study guides & worksheets every chapter. She also tells a lot of stories and is really nice. Doesn't use canvas so you need to talk to her about your grade.

She's a great professor. Your grade depends on you. She gives out study guides for everything. Took this in winter so it was really condensed but doable if your put in the study time. I sometimes felt like there wasn't enough time in class for tests but thats because it was open notes/book. Not an easy A, but anyone can EARN it.

Professor Ireland-Galman was an absolute delight, and was funny. Her tests are open note and open book, but you have to read the text book front and back to do well in the class.

She's very old school and doesn't post any grades on canvas so you need to wait weeks and figure out your own grade. For someone who teaches child psych she's very rude and outdated and doesn't teach anything you can use in the field. Tests are really long and open book/note but its pointless since its on 10 chapters and hard to find answers.

She is a good teacher. Her lectures are very interesting. However, her tests are about 100 questions. They are open book but you have to read to know where everything is. She is rude but in a sarcastic manner. She has a good sense of humor :) As long as you know theorists and do her long study guides you'll do fine

If you want the run down from an overachiever here it is. To sum it all down she's old bat who's rude. She thinks she's all that because she has doctoral degree. You might as well come to class high because it's hard to bear with her boring lectures. She late ALL THE F'n TIME ! She has bad energy and frequencies. EWW RUDE people make me sick.

She teaches using real-world examples. She's super funny and understanding. Theres usually partner-presentations in her classes(if your classmates suck, it makes it harder to learn unless you read) Literally no outside work other than studying the night before a test or an optional powerpoint for the presentations. If you get a B+ she'll give you A

I absolutely love this professor. She makes learning really fun and interesting. She definitely knows what she's talking about and genuinely cares about her students. No homework. Gives out study guides before each test. Has everyone do presentations to earn more points. Highly recommend.
