DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!! Worst teacher I have ever experienced in my life. If you like teaching yourself basically EVERYTHING and like the homework, quizzes, and lectures not matching the tests then I think you'll be okay. I am quite good at math and I struggled to keep a C! Save yourself some time and DO NOT take her!

Comment:

Mickey does not offer much help in calculus. I originally thought this class would be easy but her teaching style is to just do problems and hope you pick up on them. There are no study guides, and test do not match up with everything we "learned" in class. Overall, a waste of time trying to take calculus with this teacher.

I took Mickey's online math class. Get the book if you do take this class because you will have to teach yourself a majority of it. Doesn't help explain the material. I took her in Spring semester and she ignored spring break and tripled the amount of homework due that week. Don't take this teacher if you want to do well.

If you struggle with math, I would suggest that you do not take Mickey. Her exams don't really pertain to her lectures, quizzes or homeworks. Mickey encourages you to ask questions and says she has a high bar for stupid questions, but most of the time when you ask questions she says you are over complicating it and is very rude in general.

Mickey is friendly but a tough grader. Not a lot of opportunity for extra credit and limited office hours. Lots of homework and quizzes, be prepared to spend a few extra hours studying to keep up.

The quizzes are random but done in groups so if you don't know wtf you're doing just write your name on the paper and hope everyone else knows their stuff. The tests are harder what we learn in class... to me. homework is online and easy, but let me warn you if you fail the test rip to your grade. She flys through the lectures.

I was reluctant to take this professor from what I saw online. I wish I hadnt. She goes through lectures at full speed and writes a million words per minute, good luck keeping up. Tests are nothing like the lectures, quizzes or homework. Gives extra credit but its hard too. Quiz every class except the multiple times we had a sub..........

She rushes through things and isn't really helpful at all during class. She explains things in a way were she thinks you know the content you've never seen before so if you dont grasp the content by practicing before the lecture or making time for tutoring/office hours you're screwed.

Online homework. She moves through all of the material extremely quickly. MAKE FRIENDS IN THIS CLASS!!!! Very funny but the material can be hard to understand. lots of extra credit 3 tests and a final. There is a group quiz in class everyday so I wouldn't miss. She drops the lowest half of your quiz grades.

At first I HATED this class (fall2016). But as time passed I grew to appreciate and enjoy Mickeys class. I learned a lot-actually wouldn't mind retaking for the fun. Take a group quiz first thing every class. There's manageable amount of homework-don't delay or put off you will pay in the long run. Study for tests. Make friends and ask Questions

She's been in the game for a long time so she knows what shes talking about. It's a tough class though; short amount of lecture time with only a few examples, quizzes almost every time the class meets that are on the material from the previous class, and only 2 tests and a final (final grade can replace 1 test). She curves a lot which helps.

She really wants to help students pass, and will have mercy on you if you actually make the full effort (homework!) There are group quizzes every day, so don't skip class. There is a ton of homework but it's not due until day of exam. You will probably have to put in some tutor center hours, but this is a great teacher if you struggle in math!

This class was tough, but mainly because I am terrible at math. Mickey was extremely helpful though. You just have to be willing to go and ASK her. Also, she tries to scare you during the first week. She's trying to shake those that really shouldn't be there. She's actually extremely nice, as long as you're taking it seriously.

Great teacher for people who understand math. If you often struggle with math and need someone to hold your hand during the learning process, don't take this class. But she is clear cut and doesn't waste your class time and grades on a curve and offers extra credit on tests.

Along with Julie Tarr, Professor Levendusky is one of the best math professors at the Downtown Campus. You should make sure that you're in a good group when it comes to quizzes. The notes she covers in class go exactly over what we'll be doing on the HW and quizzes in the very next class, so take good notes, and don't skip class, or you'll do poor.
