Comment:

She gives you outdated templates that must be used. Lecture videos are all but hidden and are designed for the Summer version of this class even though it's Fall term (assignments don't line up). Grading is completely subjective and many assignments are either 0, 10, or 20 points out of 20. So basically if you don't do everything perfect you fail.

One of the worst designed classes by far at UF for online. There is not an assignment tab so it is hard to access all of the assignments. Most grading is out of 20pts so 0 10 or 20 are available scores. The reading exercises are vague and impossible to pass. Do not take this class online of you can help it. Difficult to find topics for CS majors.

Stupidest class I have ever taken. Don't take her. All she does is give busy work and class format is insufferable. I've missed assignments because she has something due every single day and I am in other classes duh. Planning emails are fine, along with maybe one or two research papers (NOT IN A GROUP for christ's sake), but everything else sucks.

I am taking ENC3246 with Physics and Computer Programming and I have more work from this class then the other two combined! She has a schedule written every week to help, but it has you working 7 days a week. The group project is awful because its online and everyone has different schedules. If you can get out of this class, do it!

It is an easy A. Definitely take. Make sure to hand in everything on time. There is a revision opportunity for one of the papers that allows you to improve your grade.

She's probably the easiest professor I've ever had. She was very lenient with late submissions. And very approachable. One thing I hated was that she would always side track while talking in class & she has a very annoying voice & it can get really annoying at times when she talks. However her projects were very easy!! Easy A if you do your work!

she's a terrible teacher. she's quite knowledgeable but can't transfer info. well. her personality is also disgusting. she makes facial expressions that she thinks it's cute but she look like animals instead. very bragging to. don't take her if you want a stress free semester.

I really liked this class. I didn't know what to expect going in and was really intimidated at first, but the class is relatively easy once you get past the first few assignments. You really feel like a pre-professional/a "somebody" when taking her class. Overall, great teacher with tons of great advice on writing and applying to grad school.

She's a decent teacher, but has a habit of wasting students' time with irrelevant topics, and her mannerisms can become enormously grating over time. Letting out a lengthy "yaaaaaaaaay!" and clapping one's hands could be cute once in a while, but with her it's literally about ten times a class. It feels like kindergarten in here.

Very wonderful professor. She does all she can to help her students and gives ample opportunities to revise assignments. Friendly and helpful, realizes that people have lives and other assignments and tries to coordinate schedules to make assignments not pile up with other classes. Does get off topic once in a while, but that's all right.

Comment:

Dr. Schafer is very nice. She teaches the writing part of ENC3254. She expects a lot, but is fair with grading, and allows rewrites. Basically write your papers a few days ahead of time and take them to her office hours for her to read over. She will tell you whatever she wants, and will give you an A for sure.
