Deschenes was the worst professor I've ever taken. We were not given the tests back to review from, does not have a blackboard, would teach off of slides and not give notes. If you're looking for a stats class take any other one. The class is arbitrary and incredibly frustrating. Every single lecture I spent counting down until it was over. 0/10.

DO NOT TAKE. He explicitly would tell us material would not be on exams and then it was on the test. A bulk of exams were on what seemed like anecdotal information in class. Teaches using an overhead slide. Will project the notes, give 10 minutes to copy it down blindly and then poorly explain them. Easily the worst class I've taken in college

Honestly the worst professor I have ever had. He does not use the textbook and does not post PowerPoint slides because he does not have a blackboard. His lectures are extremely boring and while you scramble to take down all of his confusing notes he is also talking about new info. He is unhelpful in office hours and clearly does not like people.

A new all time low. Deschenes has got to be one of the most disappointing profs I've had. His lectures are awful & you copy *paragraphs* from slides; grade is test based; tests slide-based. Most annoying is his suspicion of tech--no Blackboard/website, no comps in class (he's convinced everyone watches p0rn...!!!), so on. Class had much potential.

Great guy; teaches straight from Powerpoints, and doesn't use Blackboard at all. Textbooks for his classes are completely unnecessary - take good notes and ask questions. Very busy; might be hard to schedule appointments. He sometimes talks about extraneous details - might help to ask him what to focus on for exams.

Deschenes is always available to offer help and clarification. His lectures can be a bit dry but he tells interesting life stories. This class focused heavily on conceptual information, which was slightly odd for a math class. The exams were somewhat difficult, but managable if you study. The final is cummulative.

First of all: DON'T BUY THE TEXTBOOK; he's going to say you'll need it, you don't need it. All test questions come from his powerpoints, the textbook just has helpful diagrams that you could Google for free. He's a soft talker, so get there early to get a seat near the front. He doesn't post anything on blackboard, so go to class everytime.

Literally one of the worst classes I have taken at the college. He spends most of the time going on tangents that are not relevant to class at all, and is incredibly nitpicky about wording things a specific way on tests. Excited about the material, but have a hard time following him.

Professor Deschenes made Human Physiology very straight forward and easy to understand! Tests were pretty straight forward but VERY, very detailed! Always memorize all the numbers! The first 2 tests weren't bad but the final was a lot harder in my opinion!

Intro Human Body with Deschenes is a straightforward class. Three exams, all multiple choice, nothing else. Exam questions come directly from the powerpoints and what Deschenes goes over in class, and he gives you time to copy down the slides word for word. Basically, it's all about memorization. Pretty dry class, can get boring, but not bad.

I'm not sure why so many people put negative ratings. Professor Deschenes is awesome! Sure you can't use your laptops but that actually really helps me with attention. Go to class and take good notes and you'll be fine. Tests are pretty easy considering how much material there is. He's super nice and tells really funny stories about his family.

Not much to complain about. He clearly lays out what's going to be on the tests with his powerpoints. I would say give yourself a few days of studying before the test and you'll get at least a B. Difficult though because he will test you on any little detail.

Will bore you to death if you have taken AP or IB biology. He is a nice guy and a good talker but he reads off the slides with few other comments. The tests are as straightforward as can be, no surprises.

He is a generally nice guy and a decent teacher. However, the class is very easy if you have ever taken an AP/IB biology class. If you have taken AP/IB biology and you are not required to take the class, don't. You will be bored. He does a fairy good job explaining everything, especially if you've seen it before. Overall, not too challenging.

Do not sit in the back because you wont be able to hear all of the ridiculous facts he says (which are included on the tests). He reads off slides and doesnt let you type them. I'ts so boring, you'll never want to go to class.

Deschenes has ridiculous expectations for his students. He does not care in the least whether you pass or fail and is unwilling to help you in any way. He mumbles random, unconnected facts and expects you to know every detail. He doesn't post slides and has cumulative exams that focus on specific details that don't matter. Do not take.

If you’re a humanities major like me looking to fill a GER, do not take this class! Deschenes is very hard to follow, mumbles a lot, tests have very detailed, difficult questions. Also condescending and unhelpful. AVOID!

VERY easy way to fulfill GER2B. Just show up to class and take good notes and you will do fine. Don't bother buying the textbook because you will not need it at all. His tests are all multiple choice, but he puts random details that he talks about in class. if you memorize his notes then the tests will be a breeze

Get ready a lot of hand cramps since you will copying the equivalent of textbook every single class. He is one of the most ridiculous professors I have ever encountered. Make sure to memorize every single percentage he mumbles in class because it will be on the test. He also looks like an easter island head which is annoying.

Very boring lectures with very long slides and redundant information. You will end up handwriting a textbook because laptops are forbidden. An easy class, but difficult to endure.
