Great professor and great person. Covers a lot of material and he makes it interesting even for non geology majors. He expects you to study which is fine as you know have his lecture slides, review questions and a informative book. I'd love to take him again.

Best professor I ever had. Anybody who complains about this class clearly does not show up to class or try. Yes there is a lot of material but if you show up everyday and study you will get an A. Exams are tough but if you study they arent bad. If you dont show up to class or study you will fail miserable. Very funny and very fair.

This is the way professors should teach. Very organized and brings tons of personal experience from the last 40 years to give real life examples of the material. The tests are hard but you can do extra credit & quizzes help your grade. Don't slack on keeping up with studying, it's a lot of information. Go to class so you don't miss anything.

Those who complain about him- lazy, unprepared, and uninterested in higher learning KIDs. When you're in college, you have to show up to class period. His Pop quizzes are easy! He is THE BEST teacher I've had in my life. I'm not even a geology major. Take his class with 2 easy classes and another lab. Seriously, get the credits over with!

Probably the worst professor you could have as an incoming freshman. Pop quizzes once a week and never on the same day so its very stressful and I constantly feel ill prepared. Three major exams and a final. Everyone in the class is barely passing. Hard teacher.. If you don't want to ruin your gpa don't take this class.

He loves what he does, is an incredibly smart guy and professor Hoziks enthusiastic approach to science is not only one I've considered fun and at the same time challenging, but one I'll never forget. He is a college professor guys and this is college so work and reading is involved but Mike is there every step of the way.

Mike is a little nerdy but with a great sense of humor. His classes are challenging but Physical Geology is probably the easiest one he teaches. There's pop quizzes, extra credit, 3 tests, and a final. If you don't do great on the quizzes but semi-well on the final and tests AND if you do the extra credit you'll get at least an A-

Super nice guy that cares about his students. That said, he is a tough grader and will overload you with a lot of difficult work like the labs for example which btw are completely outdated! A potential employer would rotfl if you suggested using such techniques and methods.

Not a bad teacher, not a great guy either. I don't recommend him. He doesn't accept anything late, if you aren't in class you're screwed, he will make you feel like a retard if you don't know something. God forbid you talk when someone else is - you WILL get yelled at, He will correct you if you don't call him "Dr. Hozik". Not worth the trouble.
