Mike is a truly exceptional teacher. His systems for development are of tremendous value, no matter what style they are applied to. He's never been late in over 2 years. He also really cares about all of his students. I can't recommend this guy highly enough. Study with him, it'll change your drumming forever.

Mike is incredible; easily the best teacher in the percussion department. I've had him for private lessons for 3 years, and have taken Rock Rep with him. He is truly an inspiration, cares deeply for his students and tries to change the stigma placed on Rock in the department. Amazing drummer (technically and stylistically), person and teacher.

Absolutely amazing. Great guy and fabulous teacher, definitely one I will remember. Passionate and wants students to learn. Practicing is a must, but he truly inspires his students to practice and strive to do well. If you have the opportunity to take him do not let it pass by!

There is no way for me to tell you how good a teacher he is. As good a drummer as he is, his teaching far outshines it, he will probably be remembered like a Gary Chaffee having taught many world class drummers. The man is amazing and inspires you to be better and work harder. He is also incredibly nice, funny, and humble and makes you feel great.

I have taken every class Mike teaches at Berklee, and he rarely misses a beat. Every class I have with him is infinately helpful and interesting. He is passionate about what he does and it comes through very strong. He does not teach in the conventional method but has the reason to back it up. He wants you to just understand more than anything else

Take EVERYTHING you can with Mike while at Berklee. Take all of his labs and private instruction too. Seriously, everything! He is a great player, but even more importantly, a brilliant teacher. Anytime I have a question about anything in regards to drumming (broad or narrow) he has an effective method to tackle the issue. Best teacher, by far.

Mike hands down is the BEST guy to go to when it comes to the technical world of drumming (though he is not only a technical guy!). He has completely changed my approach to the drum set and I have seen great results. He is not a hard ***, so it's up to you to push yourself. The information he provides is immensely valuable; study with him!

One of the more popular ind lesson teachers, mostly because he holds the record for fastest hands and appears in modern drummer all the time. and cause he's amazing. crazy guy. rock star ego, but its cool cause he earned it. was away for half the semester doing gigs. but i didn't mind one bit.

Mike likes to talk tech. He doesn't just say "Here's something you should learn to play - now go practice it." He likes to do strategies on practicing and methods of playing that can be applied to anything you want to learn. An amazing teacher with great material, and terribly cool to boot.

Having Mike as a teacher has been the most beneficial part of my Berklee experience. He is an amazing player and an amazing person. It's so easy to talk to and learn from him. He is one of the reasons i get up everyday wanting to play drums.
