While he may seem like a fun teacher the first few years, once you get to know him you know the lectures are the same every year and you can tell he clearly picks favorites in the music program and he is not afraid to show it. Can be extremely unprofessional in and outside of class in how he treats you.

Dr. Mitchell is an amazing choir director and cares so much about his students. I looked forward to the class and felt like I really mattered to him. He was so inspiring and believed in me and my abilities. I look forward to working with him for the next few years.

He always gives speeches that speak to students on a personal level. I was afraid I wasn't going to like college choir after taking choir all throughout middle and high school. But Dr. Mitchell is one of the most honest, kindhearted, and genuine professors at this school. 100% would take again for the rest of my life.

Dr. Mitchell is one of my favorite professors. He never fails to inspire us and make us laugh. His energy level is awesome. You need to show up to class and focus, but if you love music that shouldn't be an issue. Take University Chorus. You won't regret it! It's been the highlight of my day and one of the best parts of my college experience.

Michael is by far one of the greatest teachers I have ever had. University Chorus was a blast. It was a shame he was sick for over a week during the semester and couldn't make it to our second concert. But this man knows what he's doing and he's fantastic. Take this class or History of Rock Music. You will not regret it.

Dr. Mitchell is the most inspirational and encouraging choir director I have ever had. He chooses the neatest songs, and rehearsals are always a blast. He obviously has a lot of enthusiasm and passion for teaching, and it definitely shows considering how the choir sounds by the end of the semester!

The most inspirational teacher at OU and by far the most entertaining prof and class. This class should be mandatory. He is the best professor, he knows his music and loves what he teaches. He also is really down to earth, cool, and absolutely hilarious. The tests actually test you, but if you go to class their easy. Did I mention class is a blast?

University chorus was a blast last year. Mike became an great mentour and a wonderful friend/teacher. Sometimes he is overwhelmed with the class size and commitment between UC and OC.. Always took the choir to the top and gives a terrific performance.By far the cream of the crop at OU!!! Talks alot about Texas but the choir becomes family for him.

Mike is like the best director i have ever had. He becomes more than a teacher, he becomes a friend to you. hes absolutely hilarious and he doesn't judge. he says things that just make sense to me. i cant put my finger on why, but i ask a question and he answers and it just clicks. he just rocks. take university chorus you wont regret it!

Come to class or don't, but the whole semester is based on his lectures. That said, the lectures are totally worth coming for. Mike's knowledge on the subject is extensive and he's able to make it interesting for everyone (no one fell asleep anyway). I actually go to a University where they teach a class called "history of rock music" There is no book, just his lecture-which is worth listening too and then listening to music. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this prof and this class. There is a midterm and a final, easy unless your'e a moron!
