DO NOT TAKE HIM. Although his lectures are thorough, the majority of his test questions come from the book. The test questions are worded difficultly, and the answers to them are confusing. There will be several right answers and you have to pick the best one. When you ask questions, he'll just answer "that's just how it is."

I loved Dr. Moran. He is a tough teacher, but it is a hard subject. He makes you think and most importantly makes you learn! He was always willing to help and got your grades back quickly. I recommend taking him, but be ready to work!

Dr. Moran in my opinion was a great teacher. His tests aren't the easiest, but if you pay attention in class and actually study what he tells you to, its possible to make an A. learned a lot. i recommend him

He is not very clear when you ask him questions. Don't dispute questions on the test, he will not change his mind. Tests are relatively hard. I had a REALLY good AP bio class so I was able to pass with an A. If you don't already have a good biology background don't take him. If you do then you'll be fine.

DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!! If you fail the first exam, it is best to drop him and take someone different! He is very difficult. i failed his class with flying colors, so I had to repeat it.. My best advice is to not take him!

The class is difficult but like all more advanced biology courses completely possible to get an A. I got a B just because I am not a good lab report writer. He does grade tough and does not care to discuss how you think you are right. He will correct mistakes he makes. Nice guy, most people do not like him because they do not like the subject.

I made a B in his class. I did it by reading my textbook and teaching myself the material every single night. I shouldn't have to do that. I have no problem with a difficult class as long as the teacher is decent. He is very poor. When you ask Q's, he will cut students off like he's protecting his ego. Lectures on dead day. Just stay away.

I strongly encourage taking Dr. Moran for Cell Bio. Most people fail his tests because they simply memorize the notes. His tests involve the application of lecture material to interpret figures and practical scenarios. This is the cut-off point for Bio students that understand concepts and apply them to situations and those who memorize and forget.

The lab to the class ROCKS! Mad hard class but you will learn more than from any other class. 2 bioelectrical 4 me-you have to know your physics. Teaches it completely on a physics level-not bio. Turns everything into an electrical cell model-where's the bio in that? Learn to regurgitate it the way he likes it!

You'll leave every lecture you attend thinking its not bad at all and that you understood everything he went over. Notes consists of easy to understand terms and concepts with tons of graphs and diagrams. Seems simple enough. Then you take the exam and BAM!! Nothing like lecture and he words questions purposely to trick you.

This guy starts off by saying that 50% of the class will drop out or fail before midterm. His notes have nothing to do with the tests. I made an A in biology 1400 and still struggled with this class. The guy next to me made a 34 on his ACT and he struggled just as much. He's not helpful at all and loves to make you feel inferrior.

The class material was fairly easy to undertand and is easily learned. Dr. Moran openly admits that the class is easy, but he is hard. He does not want people to succeed in his class, for the fear that you will appear smarter that he is. He uses the same test year after year, but he guards them with his life.

Lectures have nothing to do with test material. Not very helpful. He doesn't care about your success in the class and can be very discouraging. There are no notes online and his classroom notes consist of a lot of pictures/diagrams that make comprehension near impossible! Avoid at ALL costs!!!

This is one of the toughest classes at UCA, but it prepares you well for future classes. He doesn't seem like it, but he warms up to students very well. I was in his office all the time, and never once did he comment on my not getting the material. He is willing to help students WHO PUT FORTH AN EFFORT, but refuses to help if you don't try.

Lectures have nothing to do with the tests and the book doesn't relate, either. there are 5 tests, no bonus, no extra help--in fact the only proposition for help was on the first day and he told us his office hours-- pretty much you can't ask questions in class without him making you look stupid. you're wasting your time and money if you take him.
