Mike is hilarious. His lectures can be hard to follow sometimes since he normally doesn't use PowerPoint, but he isn't opposed to explaining things in more detail if you ask him. He isn't kidding when he says he'll be quizzing you on the readings, either, so READ.

I took Mysteries of the Past, and holy cow. He is so funny! Everything he teaches he has something to say about, and what he teaches is totally fascinating! I can not WAIT to have him again!

You have to actually go to class , read, and do the work. But getting an A is not impossible if you put in the effort. Quiet guy, dry sense of humor, yet awesome. Made me fall in love with Anthropology.

Likes his subject matter and has a lot of stories to tell from personal experience (both things I like in a professor). Pretty clear while teaching, subtle/dry sense of humor that cracks me up. Lectures contain a lot of information and he doesn't structure information very well, but on the whole I've really enjoyed Anth 101 as taught by him.
