Class was a breeze! If you can understand his lectures which are very clear and do the homework on Webwork you don't even need the book personally I wouldn't have bought it knowing what I know now. Exams are very understanding as far as questions are very similar to homework and his review sheet informs you of everything testable. Great Professor!

Prof O'Sullivan is a really nice guy. The material itself is pretty hard but he tries his best to clarify it for you. His class is really curved (60% is a C, 72% a B)so I think anyone can pass if the put in enough effort. Tests do get progressively harder, but he's a fair grader. There are two types of hw: webwork&written. The written is hard.

Favorite professor taken at SDSU so far! Crystal clear on what he expects from the class right up front. Material on exams is taken from the book and homework but is all reviewed in class. In other words, no surprise questions! Curve and grading is fair and lectures are crystal clear. Highly recommend this professor!

O'Sullivan is a great professor who has genuine interest in the subject and wants students to succeed. Class is hard but SHOW UP. Go to his office for clarification if needed; he is really helpful and will spend the necessary time for you to understand what is going on. HW pretty much on a weekly bases, worth 20-40 points, 3 tests, and a final.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but O'Sullivan was nothing but rude and condescending. He figures all math is taught one way and one way only. He is not helpful during office hours especially if it appears you're having a tough time understanding the material. Wait for another professor.

He's a great professor. (: The course is tough but he tries his best to help you. Don't expect an easy A; you really need to put a good amount of effort into it. Go to his office hours! I went often and he made everything a lot clearer one-on-one.

This is a difficult class, but he is by far the best teacher to take for it. He trys to make it interesting and really cares about helping you learn! Tests are really hard. You want to go to class to learn cause he doesn't follow the book

Knows the material very well and is very helpful and available to help. Lectures can be fast paced and easy to get lost. I really disliked the book. Read ahead and use another textbook to help you with this class. Weekly homework is graded (25%) as well as three exams (45%) and a final (30%). Read ahead and ask questions and you'll do fine.

Weekly assignments worth 25-35 points, 3 exams, and a mandatory final. O'Sullivan goes kind of fast through the lectures so reading before the class is recommended. However, the content is not difficult so if you go to class you'll do fine. Also, office hours are EXTREMELY helpful. And he grades you easier ;-).
