He's a nice guy, just doesn't know how to properly teach a class. Most of his powerpoints were just pictures of the trips he's been on. If you read the textbooks, you'll be fine. The text was just boring and repetitive, so force yourself to read it. What was on the midterm and final was not fully clear, so be sure to take good notes during classes.

Dr. Rogers is very intelligent but seems to assume that his students know just as much as he does. Overall he is a good professor and responds to emails very quickly. The only downside of taking his class is that he is a tough grader, both on tests and papers. You have to really study/work hard to get an A from his course.

If you're taking his class to fulfill a degree requirement, and care about learning topics within anthropology--TAKE HIS CLASSES. He's a fountain of information, takes the time to explain ideas and concepts, and is very responsive to helping to better understand information outside of class.

The class is very lecture based and although he uses power point they are not very helpful. Roger himself is decent person, and gives many chances but i would not recommend him as a professor. We can spent a week talking about something and it won't appear on an exam, but something he says quickly appears like six times.

His class was super lecture based with minimal PPT notes so if you don't do well with having to process information without having something to write down it may be a struggle. Overall though great class! 3 tests, a paper, homework, and attendance for grades. Lots of extra credit too

great professor. sure the class is boring if you're not interesting in anthropology or archeology, but the curve that each test/paper gets is at least two letter grades, and Rogers gave up to 20 extra credit points throughout the semester. going to class and doing the work will get you a very decent grade

I have taken many classes with this professor. His choices of books are unhelpful to say the least. As an upperclassman I was expected to answer other classmates questions because he seemed to be annoyed by their questions. This semester he has ignored multiple student's emails for weeks on end and is completely unwilling to clarify his assignments

Unlike most of the ratings up here, I had a very difficult time in this class. It was my lowest grade, and the only reason I didn't get a 4.0 Dr. Rogers is not a very good teacher--but is a very nice guy. The tests KILLED ME even though there was a minimum 20 point curve on every one. I survived by going to office hours and begging for tips!

This class was an awesome elective to take with an awesome professor. Dr. Rogers always made himself available and tests were easy but only if you went to class and paid attention. The online quizzes are a lifesaver as well as extra credit and his very attractive assistant teacher Allison!

Anthropology is a difficult subject so for those who do not appreciate or care I wouldn't recommend taking this, but if you have background or are interested I highly recommend Professor Rogers. Not only is he a super awesome guy he is extremely educated and passionate about the subject. 3 Exams, 1 6page paper, weekly quizzes, and 1 presentation.

He is a fantastic teacher and all around great person. You need to read the book & keep up with the work, but that's what makes it so great. He is a big deal & highly respected in his field. Take one of his classes & get to know him. He's very down to earth, literally.

Professor Rogers knows how to keep the class completely engaged and interested in the subject material. Read the book! Do not procrastinate or the reading becomes unbearable. He makes you do quizzes that you can take until you receive a hundred and then send to him. There's also a group project and a final paper at the end of the semester.

very nice teacher, lots of work, but he is understanding and will give slack for late papers. he also has no problem coming over to explane something one on one so its easer to understand. very good class, a little overwhelming at first, but well worth the time and money

i was dreading this class after the first day but actually found it interesting. hes a really nice guy with a sense of humor. i dont think he takes attendance and he accepts late assignments. shows films to break up lectures which are more of class discussion about the textbook.

I went into this class with no interest in the subject at all, but I still learned a lot and found myself actually enjoying class, because Dr. Rogers is just that awesome! It was challenging for a lower-level course and he had pretty high expectations, but he's extremely knowledgeable and you will definitely learn a lot in any of his classes.
