He is a funny professor. You would need to study a lot! His lectures were difficult to understand at times.

Never went to lectures as they are completely useless. You are better off using that lecture time teaching yourself material from the book, which is what I did. I can say I taught myself everything covered in this class with the book. Quizzes are easy if you study.

Class consisted of 9 quizzes and a final. Quizzes were easy since the majority of the questions were from the recommended homework. Biggest cons for this class were the lectures -- they were awful -- and the final. It was much harder than anticipated, but I still made it out with an A.

Going to class is pointless since it's so loud from people talking that you can't hear anything. Rely mainly on book and hope for the best on the quizzes

Easy grader. Grades depend on 9 quizzes and 1 final. Quiz every week. REALLY EASY if you spend your time (1~2 hours) to do the hw problems. Just read the book and you are alright. Lecture is quite useless.. frankly. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Not a hard class, however u really need to study urself and go to the sections. Lecture rarely helps u prepare for the quiz. Just go to every section and the ta will point out what u need to study for the quiz. He is defintitely funnier than other chem 6a professors

difficult class. his weekly quizzes are 50 points, combined with his homework and readings made me constantly studying for this class. he is known to be very fast paced as we were 2 ch ahead of all the other classes and his lectures didnt seem relevant to the quizzes most of the time. go to discussions to save your grade

I took this class thinking I was super lucky in getting "the best chem teacher" but his lectures are hard to follow and his quizzes are tricky. I'm a pharm chem major and I am actually struggling in chem for the first time surprisingly. he does give away beakers which promotes participating :]

Honestly I don't know why everyone liked him so much. His lectures are useless and you have to learn everything from discussion and the book. The weekly quizzes do make you learn the material but when there's no teaching going on it makes it tough. The class isn't too hard but it's just poor teaching and he doesn't really seem to care.

Really great intro class. Weekly quizzes make it super easy to make sure you're on top of things. Read the chapter beforehand, do the problems, and you'll do fine on all the quizzes. Final was almost identical to the practice one he gave us and put strong emphasis on lecture slides. Definitely recommend him!

600 points total. 450 in weekly quizzes, 150 final. Lowest quiz dropped. 10-15 points extra credit, *wrong answer EC get 1 point*. I never really took chem before but I read the chapter, did homework twice, went to discussion, reviewed his lecture slides and got an A+. This sounds like a lot but it really isn't. Emphasis on lecture slides for quiz.

Great and interesting professor! Lectures are fun especially since he gives stuff away for volunteering. There are weekly quizzes based off the problems in lecture. Final wasn't too bad. Just do the hw problems which indicate the type of questions on tests.

Pretty easy to earn an A in the class as long as you do the homework problems and go to his lectures. Weekly quizzes make sure you're on top of things. Doubt you're going to have an easier intro science course than this.

Funny professor. Did a very good job of getting the class involved even if the class was 500+ students strong. He did some cool in-class demonstrations, (like blowing up a hydrogen filled ballon). Quizzes every week were easy and the final was doable with a cheat sheet.

Sailor's class is great. Weekly exams are the best system you could hope for cause you never really have to cram more than a week's worth of studying in a day. Exams are really easy and if you go to lecture you'll have seen every problem on the exam beforehand.
