He is a good teacher. He helps his students understand better. He takes his time to make sure they get it. He is laidback and funny. You do use math lab.

Comment:

Very short class periods. Take home tests. Only issue is that he would cancel class a good bit without any notice (I think he was sick). For someone who has a longer drive, its a bit irritating that an email wasnt sent out when we didnt need to come to class. Other than that, easy class, great teacher!

if it was required for me to take another math course, I would definitely take mike. he communicates well with his students, he keeps you updated and his notes are very clear to what's going to be on the test. Some tests are even OPEN NOTES! if I could rate mike higher I would he deserves a full 10 out of 10!!! Great guy!

Comment:

Mr. Salais rarely showed to class. Also he has substitute teachers from time to time, who has substitutes in college? It might seem like he is laid back but he rarely shows to teach. I dropped out of his class because I wanted to make sure I was going to be prepared for my next semester classes. This is an easy grade but a bad professor.

Mr. Salias is hands down the best math teacher I've ever had. At my very best, I have been a C- math student my entire life. Mr. Salias has a way of making everything so easy to understand! If math isn't your strong suit, I couldn't recommend him more. He takes him time, answers questions, and truly wants everyone to understand what he's teaching!

One of if not the only professor I will take a math class with at tech. I am really bad at math and having bad professors only made it worse. Salais grades you on what you need to know and thats it. Anything he assigns as homework is extra credit. If you are passionate about math Id look somewhere else but everyone else, this is your guy.

Comment:

The best math professor ever! Had him for 101, 102, and 110. Very laid back and cool guy. I am terrible at math but with him I can actually understand. Class get's canceled a good bit but he gets everyone caught up quickly. Always got out early.

This guy is great! I've never taken an easier math class. He's super laid back and chill yet he's also great at teaching. He takes his time going through each lesson and will rework problems if there's a question. He gives out homework and review sheets for tests. If you do them you'll get bonus points on the test. All in all, amazing teacher.

Even though he wasn't in class often he still was a very informative teacher. Math was never my strong suit and he made it very easy for me to understand. If you take notes and pay attention you will pass. If he assigns homework it's review problems that he will count as extra credit towards his tests. Do them and everything will be fine.

By far the best professor I have ever had. I have taken all the math classes that he teaches (101,102,110) with him. He gives you all the notes you need for tests, lets you use your notes with test occasionally, his study guides are exactly like his test, and gives extra credit. It is impossible to fail his classes. I made nothing but A's and B's.

One of my favorite professors. The way he teaches explains things really well and i'm not very good at math. He gives extra credit for homework so it's almost impossible not to get an A or a B on the tests. The tests aren't super hard, just study and take notes! Sometimes he doesn't show up (due to medical issues). Best Math teacher at Midlands!

If you want to make an easy A and not learn difficult material, take his class. He means well, wants all his students to pass by making his tests super easy. Homework is all extra credit for tests. Uses examples from textbook (which you need) and uses the same examples on tests. Make sure you take him for 102 if you want to pass that class too...
