Dr. Smith is overall a great guy and cares about his students. He tends to get off topic during a lecture and is generally disorganized. However, when he DOES stay on track with the lecture, he is a very good teacher at explaining new concepts.

Dr. Smith is super caring and understanding. He gave my class 2 tests including the final. A few projects, but they aren't difficult. I loved his approach to teaching. He gives you everything you need to know in advance for the final. The textbook is used for homework that is turned in. Show that you put in effort and you'll get an A.

He is all over the place and is very unclear. He would tell us one thing one day and completely contradict himself the next class. He gives you all final questions in the beginning of the semester which is helpful but takes of 20% if you make more than 5 SPG errors on the final. I wouldn't recommend taking this class. I did't learn much at all.

Dr. Smith is all over the place. He never answers questions and is very judgmental. He is the definition of a grammar nazi. Lots of group projects, so choose wisely. I'd avoid him, but if you have to take him it won't be the end of the world. He gives what's on the final in the syllabus

It was the first and the best class I've taken at the graduate level. Dr. Smith is competent and confident. He understands students very well: their needs, wants, and strengths. He is a great lecturer! A bit strict but fair. I am an ESL student, and he was very helpful to me and made sure I knew what was going on. He is an outstanding educator!!

I loved this class. I would recommend Dr. Smith to any student. His teaching method allowed students to not feel ashamed for speaking their opinion. Also, the environment in the classroom allowed all of us to feel comfortable and actually wanted to go to class. This was the only class this semester I truly tried not miss. Dr. Smith is awesome.

Great professor, very strict attendance policy. Most of all the work is group work and the final is very easy. Everything is discussed and planned out ahead of deadlines. Very clear in what he wants and what he is looking for when it comes to grammar.

For female students I would recommend but not for males. He commonly shuts out males even though he constantly talks about sexism. Although his class was easy, he was too serious about everything. He didn't grade my assignment and made me come in on my own time to his office to get them graded. He was a harsh grader when it comes to grammar.

Very nice professor. Edu 239 is extremely easy. Never had one test or quiz all semester! Students basically teacher eachother through presentations. Dr. Smith is very helpful, and truly cares about his students. We had some very interesting class discussions. Be prepared for a ton of class participation. Only set back= strict attendance.
