Horrible. His lectures are confusing. His handwriting is eligible. He does not explain anything. Be prepared to teach yourself and take full advantage of the tutors at the business learning center. Take this class as a credit/no credit. If you are thinking about taking him, DO NOT. If you are stuck with him, GOOD LUCK.

DO NOT pay attention to the other comments they probably never went to class. Yes it is not an easy class and he is not the best professor but he does explain the material. If you go to class, pay attention and put in work, you will be fine.

How can you give an exam that's solved using pencil and paper, while the hw is solved with a computer? Hw directions are unclear, powerpoints posted aren't the ones he uses to present, uses different terms than the book/powerpoints, exam or hw question errors, there's no consistency! He doesn't care. Good luck to those that couldn't get Sparks.

Worst professor ever. Do not take his course. If you do make sure you are self taught because he will only confuse you more. His assignments directions are not clear. His lectures are not detailed and cannot explain statistical concepts. Teaches with pencil and paper, but has terrible hand writing which is impossible to learn from.

He is the worst professor I've ever had. He makes the lectures difficult and speaks with statistical vocabulary which he assumes you understand because he doesn't explain. His test is multiple choice, but that doesn't matter when the answers are confusing, and nothing makes sense. He almost seems to enjoy that the average in the class is so low.

Comment:
The exams are completely different than the lectures which are completely different than the homework. His illegible handwriting uses statistical notation that ive never seen before. I understand the material quite well, but his tests are extremely unfair, arent anything like the examples given in the book, and include a "none of the above" option

By far this has been the worst course ever I have ever taken and the professor also teaches outdated tech which is not even used in the industry anymore. BTW this is a coding subject which he teaches with the help of printed paper , pen and projector. WORST experience in and out of the class.

If I could rate him a zero I would. Horrible lecture strategy, he often just whips through and skips slides. Is not very good at explaining or answering questions. He also substitutes his lectures with showing us minitab results, even though none of us have minitab and we can't use it on the exam.

His teaching style is dated. The quizes based on the homework are extremely difficult. His writing looks worse than if a chicken was writing out math problems... Honestly this is the worst class I have taken in my 4 years at a University. I suggest you take Sparks instead. Im regretting taking this professor. His lectures are unclear and borin

Take this class for credit/no credit, I've seen a lot struggle to pass who took for a grade. Unclear when lecturing, tests don't match up with lectures. TA's are very helpful though so use them! Blackboard homework once a week that's very tough and takes a long time, and it's barely worth any points. Exams are long, but you get two cheat sheets.

This is in no way an INTRO to Java class. You must have prior knowledge to java coding to expect a good grade from this class. The class felt rushed and his lectures and homework expectations were unclear. Midterm and final were tough but he allows the use of cheat sheets. Read the book ALOT and watch videos on how to code prior to taking this clas

Currently taking his class and I have realized I am glad I am taking it C/NC. He is has sloppy hand writing and assumes everyone has prior knowledge on the subject being taught. Class notes, hw, and the book do not relate what so ever. Students constantly correct his wrong calculations. If you can avoid him, do yourself a favor.

Took it during the summer and it was terrible! There were only three exams worth 250pts each! If you're screwed you're screwed! Plus, he made the assignment questions on half of the quiz, and simply ask you what is the answer of #n in the assignment... To scare you more, he graded all quizzes and count them toward your grade! NOT AS EXTRA CREDIT!!

Read the book from the very beginning. Use online resources. Particularly, use MrDeathJockey on YouTube. This kid teaches you all the concepts in a VERY SIMPLE way, so you can kinda sorta understand Velebit's explanations during class after watching. Homework is more difficult than the exams.

Take the title of the topic, the key concepts and formulas, and learn how they all work on your own. His explanations only make things confusing. I got an A in this class studying a couple days before exams. Maybe two or three hours total for each. The homework does not help AT ALL conceptually, so don't count on it teaching you anything.

A month into this course and a couple of days away from the first exam, and I have never felt so lost. I guess I could read and learn on my own but then what is the point of having a professor? You copy the examples in class but they aren't even helpful because his handwriting sucks and he won't explain steps! Hate this class so much try ECON 300
