Comment:

He may have a good sense of humour but he is a very tough marker. For our MATLAB course, what he teaches during lecture is barely 20% related to what we get asked during our weekly lab sessions. For the theory tests, he barely gives part marks. Full or none at all. Nevertheless, its still a doable course with the help of the TAs during the labs.

His lectures and examples were not beneficial at all for the midterm/exam. The exam was extremely hard, i can guarantee none of that material was covered in class. Try to do really well on the labs and the midterm and that will help greatly when it comes to the exam.

HORRIBLE. He has a heavy accent and is extremely hard to understand. He flies through power points with grammatical errors and gives examples which are unexplained and make no sense. Although his labs and midterm exams were fair enough, his final exam was unnecessarily difficult. It tested on things not covered in class before. Again, HORRIBLE.

Takes his time with assignments and tests, It is already the next semester and we do not have our grades! 30% of assignments can be easily lost if you aren't good at self learning using all kinds of materials all over the internet, because you cannot find help in his lectures. Such a failure in education tbh!

3 coding assignments worth 30% overall are long, hard & unclear. Midterm and Final again test your coding knowledge but also involve lots of memorization from the class notes on theoretical aspects of OS. Class lectures are boring, uninteresting, rather just read the book. You need to be really good at C coding to pass this course.

This was by the far the most difficult course i took this year. Work extremely hard and do well on the labs because you're going to need it in order to pass the course. Very thankful for the bell curve on the midterm

He is very hard to understand so don't sit at the back of the class! If it wasn't for the labs I would fail this class. The lectures were pointless and a waste of time, your better off just reading the book. His exams are very difficult!

The prof is knowledgeable,the notes he put on course site not useful,the lecture is not useful and never showed how to write a code. The accent is a little bit hard to understand as a international student. he doesn't update the course site if hes busy or something. it looks like he doesn't even try to teach. no feed back for any code i have done.

Lectures are all over the place. He starts from one topic and all of a sudden, he talks about a new topic without mentioning it. Tests are hard. He's a cool guy and makes jokes.

Minas is a nice prof but his style of teaching can be a little frustrating. The course feels disorganized, assignments are not very structured (some long, some short, some based on random concepts from 1 page in the slides). His tests are also very random and end up being curved heavily. He is knowledgeable but could work on his organization.

Minas is an extremely nice guy and is always willing to help (his door is always open). As for testing, to do well you *need* to read the textbook. When taking notes, write down EVERYTHING, he tests on the smallest little topic! Great guy, great course.

the lesser of all evils. We had midterm&final split in 1/2. Other 1/2 of each was lab test; but EVERYONE did bad in 1/2 of lab GUARANTEED; written is easy. Assignments not impossible, 60%min if u try. He's VERY lazy, uses other ppl's online notes and makes UNCLEAR assign outlines, and u loose marks for things he never said he expected in design.

Decent prof. Doesn't communicate clearly, slow to update the course website. Assignments were tough but I learned a lot. On assignment #2 it took me more time to figure out what he wanted than to actually write the code. Funny jokes: "You can do this with C, and when you are finished machine gunning your feet..."

Don't listen to these nerds below, he can't teach at all. Half of the class dropped the course after midterm!!! The final exam was so hard he had to curve up one full grade to make the average c!
