Comment:
Miriam is the best ASL teacher Ive had at WOU. She is so caring and funny. She makes classes interesting. She will always repeat signs if youre lost. Her hw can be long but you learn so much from it. She understands that learning a new language can be stressful and she makes sure that the class goes at a pace that everyone can follow.

She was the worst ASL Teacher I have had. She hardly ever had a lesson plan, and if she did she was very unclear. She gave me a 60% on my final presentation even though I followed her instructions. She is also very inconsiderate of holiday plans and takes advantage of students. I would avoid her at all costs.

Miriam has to be the sweetest professor at WOU. She is always willing to help. She does a good job making class fun and not boring. I suggest taking her for any ASL class if you have the option to.

Actually the worst teacher at Western Oregon University. Do not ever ever take her. I would rather kill myself than have her again.

Horrible teacher. She uses Canadian Sign rather than American. We've only learned a handful of signs so far- and it's week 5. All she does is talk about her life and her travels. She's not clear on when the homework is due at all. Her grading system is horrible. I do not suggest her at all. I can't tell you hardly anything we've learned.

Comment:
American Sign Language especially taught by a deaf professor is very beneficial, she is most warm-hearted person I ever met and is full of pep! Her facial expressions are easily readable and thus teaches the essence of ASL.
