The worst class, I've ever taken. Terrible lectures that went all over the place. You can take notes on everything she's saying and still manage to fail the tests. Shes a nice lady but shes in despite need of powerpoint slides.

Do NOT take this class! She does not cover any of the material in class, just talks about her personal life and "examples." I had no idea what the tests and quizzes were on and how to prepare for them because instructions and lectures were not clear. She uses email to contact her students and is not clear when deadlines are due.

Hands down the worst teacher I have ever had in my entire life. Unclear grading, antagonizes her students, and is constantly going on tangents. Toward the end of the semester she kept asking our class to recommend her class next semester to other students and i know I speak for everyone in this class when I say AVOID THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL COST

she is by far the worst professor I have taken at UML. She will call out students in the middle of class which only embarrasses them. She is completely unclear about what she wants for the assignments. She rambles on and on and doesn't make much sense. Avoid taking her.

I really wanted to take a class cultural studies through food, so I read Prof. Das' reviews with a bit of shock. I took her class anyway and loved it. Those who complain (and there were two in my class) were the ones who wanted an easy grade and didn't want to learn. I work too hard to be here to want a silly class. Loved it and will take another.

Honestly, I have never even considered writing a review on any professor, but she is without a doubt the worst professor I have ever had. She embarrasses, disrespects and berates students. Her grading is ridiculous and you never know what she really wants from you in her papers. I never had a grade lower than a b+ before this class. DO NOT TAKE HER

She expects a lot of participation. If you do at least some of the readings and can show that in class, she'll like you. I don't think she's excessively opinionated. Her exams were all take home and not that challenging if you read the books. She's not very understanding if you miss class, but she offers extensions for paper deadlines.

average grade in her class is 70, even if you do all the work + attend every single class. She is mean, desorganized, and rude and she embarrases you in front of the whole class. She is very unfair, and grades hard. Takes a long time to return assignments. Class is a boring waste of time.

awful accent you cant understand. writes her own book and you cant sell it back because she purposely orders new ones, and it's all set up that way... like a monopoly. She also made us purchase four books and we barely opened one of them, and like two pages of the other one. Then I found out you could have gotten those books from the library.
