MJ has a mindset in which she is right; if you disagree with her, she will literally walk to your desk and call you out.. She claims to be "woke" but she is problematic af. She's also not that good of a teacher. She contradicts with herself a lot in her lectures. Her grading system is confusing. She grades things VERY last minute.

MJ is one of the best professors at Gallaudet. She knows her stuff- you just have to read the books, and keep up w/ her lectures. She is really caring and empathetic. She is also big on social justice, so be more considerate when you're in her class. She once spent an hour lecturing us abt unpacking our privileges

Amazing and very flexible. Her knowledge in ASL Linguistics is immense and expansive. She is very kind-hearted and has a warm personality. She is very caring and a strong signer. Her ASL is clear and pure.

Challenging, which you want! Could be more helpful, but very fair and responsive if you take initiative. Excellent lectures and facilitates class discussion--she knows her stuff, is clear about what she doesn't know, and uses our comments as teaching opportunities. Plus she has a wicked sense of humor. I look forward to class and learning!

Um, what can I say abt her? She is great professor, however, she apparently know her content only in "GLBT" issues, not other issues in oppression. Most of her class discussion tend focus based on her experience as "Lesbian" which I have nothing against it. Come on, there are other issues involved, blahhies on her issue is losing our focuses in her

I found her to be not flexible in discussing opposing positions. She is really closed to any discussion that is not an agreement of her own ideas, which is too bad since I found some of her teaching of second language acquisition theory to be quite dated. But, of course, she is a legend.
