She's an okay teacher I would not recommend her. I took this course online because I needed the credit. Sometimes she can be rude and I do not think shes need to be a professor at TJC.

Great class! She answers all emails in kind and respectful manner. Easy to follow course material. Group Project is required by the State. So, engage quickly with your team. Exams are online, so "open book." Buy the textbook and exams are easy. One of the BEST teachers at TJC! Register early so that you can get in her class.

Comment:

Mrs. Hindman is a great professor. She really cares about her students. All online instructions are clear and easy to follow. If questions, she is quick to answer emails. A group project is required by the state of Texas. So, all speech courses in Texas are going to have a team presentation. I enjoyed working with my team.

Let me be the first to say that her class is the most difficult class I have EVER taken and that says a lot! She is a picky grader and is not fair when it comes to this. Her instructions can be very difficult to understand and then there's the infamous group speech. The assignment is very poorly organized so DO not take this class online.

Took the online course during summer. Had to go to the college 4 times for the speeches, although under certain circumstances you are able to provide speeches by video submission. She lays out exactly what she want for each speech. The assignments are easy and quick. The test are based off her online notes, and out of text chapters,but can be tough

I took her this summer. She gave clear instructions for each speech and assignment. She seemed to grade my speeches kindly, because I never made below an A. She provides some notes, which are useful on tests. However, I found quite a few of the test questions to be written poorly. I emailed her about those and she raised my grade but didn't explain

Took this class online. There were SO many assignments, but overall easy. Had to go to the campus 4 times to give speeches, never made less than a B. You will use text book only for the tests (so get a used one). It was dumb that the final grade was a group project because you're relying on others for your Final.

I took professor Hindman for business speech class. The bottom line here is that the class was boring, but I suppose it's speech, so I wasn't surprised. I had a hard time understanding her grading system on actual speech performances. Lack of consistency there, for sure. However, I made an A in the class, so oh well.

Mrs. Hindman was over-all a difficult teacher if your trying to boost your GPA. If you just need the credit and to pass she is perfect. Some material online did not match up with the in class speeches. Due to this I lost several points on speeches that I worked extremely hard for. If your looking to pass and thats it Mrs. Hindman is a good teacher.

She is the BEST!! I absolutely loved taking this course with Mrs. Hindman! It's easy and you'll have so much fun! She is very sweet and doesn't make you feel nervous or silly when you're giving your speeches. Exams are open book. I would definitely recommend this professor! She's great!

Excellent teacher. I took her for Interpersonal Communication in the Fall of 2011, and it was a very good class. Very clear instructions, and very easy to talk with. Has a very positive attitude, which makes attending the class very easy.

I took this online. Tests are over the computer and were extremly hard, don't bother buying the book it won't help you. She does give easy homework assignments though. Givng speeches wasn't so bad since she puts you in small groups, mine had like 6 people in it. She's nit-picky on speeches so beware. It's hard to get an A on speeches, expect a B.

I took Public Speaking online during the summer and it was a fun and easy class. The teacher is very helpful and encourages you to do your best. She is understanding, and the course schedule and assignments are very easy to follow. I would recommend this class to anyone who needs to take a speech course.

Loved her class. She has such a deep passion for teaching. This course I was actually looking forward to attending. I recommend it!
