Comment:

Prof Ali may be hard to understand sometimes (do the readings ahead and sit near the front), but he is great! Classes are lecture based followed by a documentary screening. Not only is he is a generous marker but the review he gives for the midterm preps you extremely well! He is also VERY understanding when it comes to late/missed assignments.

Best History professor at Carleton, sad that 2013 is his last year of teaching at this school. Very interesting class, uses the textbook extensively (the textbook is really easy to read). I don't see how someone could fail his class, he's so fatherly!

Grea prof Great lectures Cares to clarify information Answers e-mails within a day. Approachable. Give this Prof tenure! We need more of such knowledgeable people in our Faculties today. Too many Profs with publications & no teaching styles. He respects the students !!!

Awesome Prof. VERY Knowledgeable. very passinate about topics. Flexible & an active listener. Accomodates any reasonable needs, requestss and is always available to help students succeed. He was hard to understand. You couldn't follow any sort of timeline. The text book will be your best friend in passing the course. He marks really easily so you don't need to go to lectures as long as you read the text book. He marks easy too.

Really nice guy and a super easy marker. However he was a little hard to understand and his handwriting was illegible. He tends to repeat himself a lot. Overall it was not a challenging class so take it if you want an easy grade.

Very very boring professor. Only attended three classes. Doesn't use webCT or powerpoint, just reads from notes. A lot of movies in this class.
