Prof. Parkash couldn't have been any less helpful. Material posted is clearly 1020 years old from the book publisher, and he provides almost no additional information himself. I gave up on his teaching about 4 weeks into the class and used the book/google. Don't bother trying too hard on the homework, you'll get full credit anyway.

Comment:

Lectures were boring (you can learn the same stuff in the textbook), but he's a nice person and a fair grader. His class might be more interesting if he broke up the lecture with an activity or two out of the textbook that would help prepare us for the homework. The take-home exams are a plus. Lots of group work. I would recommend him.

Prof. Parkash was awesome. Accounting is a boring topic and I had zero background in it. However he taught it so well that I really liked the class and understood it really well. He is a no-nonsense type of guy. Pay attention in class and you will truly understand the subject. Homework can be time consuming, but not difficult (such is accounting).

I do not recommend taking this in the summer. The homework took 7 hours a week, was very tedious, and he did not respond to emails when you had questions. Very smart, but seemed like he could not have been bothered to help you.

Professor Parkash would be the best professor for you to take an accounting class with. I highly recommend going to class though because he teaches very well and you will understand better with his lectures. He is great and I can't wait to take him again in other higher level accounting classes.

Go to class you will understand the concepts much better. HW is time consuming but it is the best way to learn financial accounting. Prof. Parkash is very knowledgable and willing to answer your questions. Good sense of humor too.

Very thorough lectures. Goes over homework in class, and is very knowledgeable. He can be pretty funny at times, and is very fair in his grading. Attendance is not mandatory, but believe me, if you miss more than one class, you'll be lost. He got tests back to us in a very reasonable amount of time. Recommended!

Homework is very tedious and you can expect it to take several hours each week. Prof Parkash does a pretty good job explaining things and will let you out early on occasion. Let us do the final as a take home exam. Subjective grading on the group project and it was not clearly explained what he was looking for. Overall, I would recommend him.

Very good professor for a sometimes boring topic. Missed several classes and still able to keep up with the homework and score a 3.5 with little effort. Actually learned from his lessons and was a very fair grader for group projects. Highly recomend. Not the best, but I have had many worse.

Show up for class and pay attention and you will pass...just make sure you understand concepts and the rest is easy. Goes through the homework in class and will allow you a "cheat sheet" for tests which helps a lot.

He is a very good professor, he tells you what he expects from day one and that is what you have to do in order to do well. The material is not easy so take the time to do the homework and don't be afraid to ask questions! I hope to take him again for ACC 210

This professor is over educated and over skilled to teach a class like this. I would not suggest this professor unless you have no other options. Very time consuming and he expects you to automatically know the material. If you get the chance pick that chinese lady for ACC 200, she is much better and the computer project was much easier.
